If we win the next two games we will be five points adrift six really due to our goal difference with five games to go. Which means we have to win the remaining game in hand ( that is is three wins in a row to still be three points adrift of Blackpool and Burton) the in the last four games we have to get three more points than either Burton or Blackpool. The damage done to this club by its owners, executive management and Matt Hamshaw is enormous. We still get that clown on radio Sheffield, Les Payne and the iplayer commentators defending Hamshaw. I have no confidence that this rapid decline will stop next season, and yet we are told the club is well run???

The club is not well run. For us to allow the current 4.5m loss reported is way beyond our norm.

A succession of things have happened, and you have missed out Taylor and Evans. So don’t say derbs it is all the football managing on hamshaw.
The board chose Taylor and Evans. And those players playing this season were one season too many. No one helping the kids out.
Recipe for disaster and we got one, injuries.
The execs let all the medical go, what have we now working on 10 generally in dock.

The buck stops at the top, bad decisions, timing, nous. The rest is just detail.

The crunch is coming. By the time we get to next tuesday and after the wigan game we will really know what the odds are.

2 wins from the next 2, then a draw or better at wigan will put the wind up the rest, make them nervous for a change.

Sounds impossible at the moment, but you never know. Rome wasn’t built in a day, the players were not playing to get hamshaw out, so the level we see is a true one.
But, if Clarke can get a spark going and extra energy, who knows.

Because if not, then squad selection coming will be the most important one in recent times.

It is Smith that indicates it is well run in two separate interviews. I have never said it was all MH but my god he didn't help. As to him not having the support, I don't think that stacks up. 19 players he brought in, he brought in the fitness coach and assistant manager. PD stated that at no point did MH or his fitness guy raise any concerns about the way the club dealt with the preparation and treatment of players when related to injuries. It is MH that accepted part-time staff in key fitness positions. In fact he was backed way past his sell by date, I genuinely believe that an experienced manager coming in late December and given the transfer window would have us with more points. We will never know if that is true because our chairman the only man that can make the call was on holiday. As it has been said by a few MH is a coach not a manager, there is a huge difference and he will go back to coaching like a lot of others that have tried moving from coaching to management and failed, he is not alone. I agree with you about the damage Taylor and Evans were allowed to do. Be glad when this season is over and not looking forward to next season with these numpties in charge.

The problem is derbs, who do we believe? A COO who claims MH never raised objections or concerns? Or MH who was charged to produce a plan, but it was not taken up?
And the conflicts of who what and why go on. Because we do not really know. We have only just found out Dawson has had a shoulder issue for months!
As for MH accepting part time staff, be realistic, would he have had any choice? Do you think for one second he asked for part time staff?
Lets keep it real, I know you do not think much of him, but really.

I take your point, but we have reportedly limited medical staff with regularly 10 needing treatment, and not just that but overseeing through recovery. Now, that is far from good enough. Limited staff and assume all will be well? Seems like it.
Good talent has been allowed to drain away from this club, in an economy drive after wastage on a scale unheard of in this club.

Smith says it is well run? In what manner exactly? This is from the man who says relegation only matters to the fans.

Hamshaw. We will shortly be playing another managerial reject Richardson. Quite likely to be taking Reading up. People should be careful what they wish for. That bloke probably spoke some home truths, who knows.

There is a theme running through the past 3 years and players signed has got overlooked all the time. Silk purses do not come from sows ears.
And as for MH being backed with 19 players. I wonder when the report comes out, exactly how little was spent. Many are young, loans, inexperienced. Maybe that’s all he was allowed.
Certainly too many, but that is probably all that was allowed….no good picking up even more old has beens more than we already had got. You can’t do it in one go.
So, I think we will never know about Hamshaw, and the plan. Asked for and insufficient time given on it, because it has now become what the fan in the tiser has called out as a club.
                    Headless chickens is my take.
December would have been the time to change, may be. But with this squad in a january window and no money to spend, nah would not have made any difference….look at the squad and injuries.

Do not assume for one second that the numpties, whoever they are you refer to, will not be here next season. That is owners, excs, medical, players getting another contract like Dawson. We are still in economy mode thinking.

I like your optimism, trouble is what is it based on. It looks to me like wishful thinking.

The next four games are winnable, individually. That's how f***ed we are, we could win four straight games, reach 49 points, and be in the exact same league position... or at absolute best, be a single point above the drop. The chances of us winning all those four are not really worth a conversation though.

I guessed at a 53 point line for safety a while ago, and that could end up being light as things have gone. Our best run of any seven games this season was four wins and three draws (October to November), and only replicating that gives us a slim chance of staying up. The players have it in them, but it has to be the manager who gets them to show it - they're clearly not self-motivated.

The only thing we disagree on is the role of MH in this disaster of a season, the rest I agree with you. I don't get this he had no choice crap, yes he did he could have spoken out and walked away, let us remember he walked out before. If he sat there and let it all happen around him without speaking out that says more about him in my opinion. For a man that supposedly loves the club it doesn't sit well if he sat by whilst others caused issues and did nothing. Before you play the "would you have" the answer is yes and I did once leave a job due to my values being opposed to what I was seeing. So telling me he was an innocent bystander doesn't make him sound any better in fact it makes it worse to me. That is my opinion, I have no confirmed information that he did just stand by all I have is what I saw on the pitch, his interviews and the stuff in the press and my response is based on what I infer from your posts. To Finnish I think the real blame sits at executive level and MH is just a poor manager that failed in his job. The two things together is what is taking us to L2 this season.
