A little bird told me that MH had a budget of ?5M but MH didnt realise that over ?4M was already spoken for by
SE and is previous signings. Most of them were signing early in the summer when wages/signing on fees are the highest.

If that was true then MH never had a chance playing the young uns against agaist most of the giant teams. No wonder they were knackered......................UTM L2

Depending on teams promoted from L2 and National League, only time the away end will be near full would be
Notts County, Chesterfield, Grimsby, York and possibly Oldham.
Which are also probably the only decent away games
      Shame Harrogate are going down.

Another example of why MH was never a manager, he didn't realise lol. Surely anyone with average intelligence would have got clarity on what was available to them in terms of budget, decision making, authority etc. Remember he was the one that kicked out JCH with a payoff? If he didn't do his due diligence he deserves even less sympthay.

          League 2...or the 4th division.
Been watching the Millers since 1979,and since then we`ve spent 12 seasons in the 2nd division,21 in the 3rd,and 11 in the 4th.
So our "Natural" level is the 3rd division, but we`ve had almost equal amounts in the division above and below,so it`s really no great shock to once again find ourselves in the 4th level.
For me the Tony Stewart era is the greatest in my time watching my team,I remember many, many games at scruffy Millmoor along with another 3000 fans with no hope of ever getting a new stadium, and never getting from under the Booths clutches.
I shouldn`t have to point this out,but imagine where we would be if he hadn`t come along, just ask Boston,Bury or Hereford fans if they`d swop places with us.

Just looked at the 19 players out of contract incl' loanies who'll all be gone. Ayres only one I'd keep. James possibly. Rest surplus or are who were or are starting to be sicknotes. Then there's Martha & Kaleta at least who I'd move on.

....once again, please tell us how you move a player "on" when he's on a contract?

Let this season go, embrace the next one. As someone said, we're not exactly strangers to the fourth division. It's the first time in ages that we haven't hit this league with an administration on our backs.
We are historically a yo-yo club.

Worth remembering that we're going to be playing at a lower level and that attitudes of players will play a part.

Personally I don't think Ayres is good enough. I'd be trying to keep the likes of Powell, Yearwood and Reece James.

There may be others too but what needs to happen is for someone to sit down with the players individually and find out if they actually want to be at this football club. For example, I don't think Shaun McWilliams is a particularly bad player. A fit and motivated SM could be an asset in L2, but he's always injured. Why is that?

Yearwood he's out injured too often to keep. McWilliams he's going backwards get shut.

If McWilliams is going backwards, then why is that? The lad is 27. Do you think he wants his career to go backwards? If it's going backwards because he doesn't want to be at the club, then he knows where the door is. If there's another reason then we need to find out what it is.

You say Yearwood is always injured but so is everyone else, with a few exceptions. Again why? With a new coaching team in place for next season, I don't think we'll see anywhere near the level of injuries we have this season. Personally I like the thought of a midfield containing Yearwood and Spence in L2.

All I'm saying is that if we're throwing everyone in the bin who is out of contract, then that's a lot of players to replace. A tough gig for any manager.

Spence still under contract next season but I'm not sold on him.

And I will say even with frozen ticket prices, diabolical in itself, how many will come at that?

A packed NYS on day one reduced down to what, 3-4K attendance. Up to xmas some of the home performances were quite poor, as was the football in the division.
By 2nd week in January we had lost at home SEVEN times. Results were extremely unpredictable. L2 is no picnic. Evans more or less had a clean slate of players, yet we really had to rely on a late surge in spring. Winning the last 5 games.

It will take more than a ?deep dive? to sort things out. All we have at the moment is a lot of talking, packed with quotes and meaningless descriptive jargon.
That?s all coming from Clarke and Paul copy and paste rehash Davis, because there is nothing to go on.

You make it difficult for them. Most of them will not want D2 wages or play in it. The ones that will stay are the young ones, they should find it easier. And are still learning. They will take the hint and some will be on to the agent already, so some may good of clarke speaking out.

Think some of our players are better than we have seen - whoever we have as manager, if they can unlock this, then we may see better days ahead
