  • The Chairman speaks out

I bet this was penned weeks ago.....

Too right it was, then edited as necessary Brin. Maybe a month ago. As far as I am concerned it is due to what is being said on the likes of here and probably many other places, may be even in public.

It is repetitive, and short on content. Whilst I generally advocate a keep it in house approach, the situation warrants more, without naming names or at least a “we know now what to do - and this is it, XYZ.
Otherwise, how can we possibly take him and intentions seriously, in the manner of trusting for the god knows how many times, “we have learned, etc”

The script may be longer than usual, but it is much the same as always.
We supposedly have asked a man about how to run the organisation, well, we need someone who actually knows football.

Yes, I believe we should know what transpired during the discussions of hamshaw going, into why they thought it necessary to change at such a late stage of the season, again without doing so in an unseemly or illegal way. Just let us know what comes next, we can work out why when x gets appointed.

And he could have started or ended the paragraph about supporters spending hard earned money on our relatively high ticket prices by now GOING BACK A SEASON ON PRICES. He acknowledges it, he should do something about it. How about it Mr. stewart?
The squeeze on player wages is to come, so lets have the “rebate”.

Too much is swept under the carpet. Clarke, he says he knows what more is wrong, well tell us what needs doing if you can’t say fully what he has found.
My guess with last night’s heart rendering chat he won’t be asked to stay.

If you want the same results, keep on doing what you are doing. I’m sorry, but I just don’t believe you Mr. Stewart, not any more.

And bitterly disappointing it is to have to say it.

There's not only TS to blame. Rotherham public to start with didn't back us enough 10 years ago to get the grounds capacity increased then we would have had more chance of competing in the championship.

This season it's down to Scott & Hamshaw. Their signings sent us down. Need a new head of recruitment but then it's down to the manager to have the final say on who we sign.

if you are referring to the owner then he hasn?t been bothered all season . It?s been piss poor and the buck stops with him , he hires and fires .

You dont have to trust him at all. His decision making has been awful. People should acknowledge he's financially propping up the club though.

We've got one idiot thinking he's owed a rebate on his season ticket. Maybe the main sponsor is due one as well? The saving grace for our old Tony is he (his son) owns the ground. Seems to have let everything else get out of control.

It is good something has been said, what happens next will be interesting. For me I want to see people kicked out to make me convinced, if TS needs any help I am sure between us on here we can give him a list.

I?ll rephrase it howdy. We take it on face value or don?t go. I?m not that impressed with what?s happened but we wanted comms we?ve got it now it?s not good enough. Go figure.

I expect to be in the minority but I think it is a good statement, yes he could have said a few extra things, he talks of processes changing but not people however I assume that is for legal reasons. The fact we do a deep dive on the player availability now when common sense says that should have been done two years ago when it started to get worse amazes me but doesn't surprise me as there are too many people in comfortable positions at the club. Overall a good statement but it has to be followed up with more communication and action.

The bloke can`t win can he ?
I for one appreciate him saying what` he`s said, not sure what people would expect him say...."That Hamshaw was w*nk,Scott is a right w*nker,Douglass is stealing a wage, and I haven`t clue what I`m doing".
Lets see what the close season brings.

Supporters would like a communication that tells them something.
Why did TS leave it until the ship had sunk before he said anything?
That statement was probably written for him and contained a lot of words but what have we actually learned?
What is the strategy for the club going forward?
You say supporters don't believe it. Believe what exactly?

That there will be a full review. I took it that he needed to address us he?s done that. Hopefully there will be further statements. I?m not saying everyone should be applauding him just we wanted it we?ve got it and it?s not good enough. He can?t win.

He can't win BOTN because he's hidden away for most of the season and let things go from bad to worse. That's not leadership and people are entitled to be upset....and cynical as well.
The next communication will almost certainly be asking people to get behind the club when season tickets are due for renewal.
I'll be renewing mine, it's a bad habit I've developed, but I know quite a few who've had enough and won't be making that commitment.
