  • Manager next season

We know what league we will be in - we will have a good idea of budget already. Why are we not looking to appoint now?

Give the guy 4 games to assess the club and start making the changes he wants asap. Also give him a chance to get after the players he wants quickly.

Doubt anyone will want any of the crap that is out of contract.

There are experienced L1 & L2 operators currently out of work that would probably come.

Interesting to see such a highly regarded coach as Ashley Cole drop down to the Italian 2nd Division for a job - there will be someone out there for us.

Not if they have the option of either Emilia-Romagna or Rotherham to live.

Think Clark is successfully painting (talking) his way into a corner for job to be his.

Can't see anyone wanting to pick up where he's left us as his revelations could mean no-one will touch us with a barge pole.

I think what the OP is saying is already happening. It’s Clark.

We know nothing has improved since he took over, but the conditions, the players, the infrastructure and the mindset have all been in place all season so why should it miraculously change now?

It’s to be hoped that the new team he builds is also given the medical annd fitness infrastructure he seems to so clearly want and it all works out.

From what I’ve read, that strong link to Ferguson was simply one fans opinion, nothing more.

Opinion. A lot of that about. Fact and whether the right thing will be done by the club is another matter.

I can think of a lot of people I do not want as manager. Lower leagues are full of them. Very little variation around and with teams and players.

A manager who can rise above the dross and with the players to do it. That is where we are at.

I have been seriously impressed by two players this season, other than the obvious gore and gray who do not count, not ours.
                  They are Cann and Douglas.
Douglas came in from nowhere and was head and shoulders above any other defender. Jules hid behind him to name one.
Cann, inexperienced, put under pressure and spotlight bore it well and the number of stupid keeper errors disappeared overnight.

An interesting point with Cann, are our keepers coached badly to come wildly out because dawson was highly prone to going into keeper no mans land, or is it a *rap defence since Douglas got injured and keeper lack of defence confidence? Hard to tell.
Because Cann started doing it as well a bit.

We need a manager who can spot the above, work with what will be a low budget for a squad to be formed. Stewart is going to tight squeeze again, no doubt about it.
The only person talking is clarke, extensively, but not saying much in content. That could be davis padding out, since there are typing errors appearing in articles as well, using AI at a guess.
Are events that boring and repetitive at NYS for a newspaperman? Mind you, spot the obvious in the paper name, ADVERTiser.

Quite what is going to happen, who knows. It is all guessing at the moment, and we know even if the club are sleepwalking, this is a crucial time. I am like most, hardly optimistic in who is running the club. If a miracle happens we get warne back, if not we need someone akin who can form a squad on little money, choose and bond the right types. Look at MK, one game away.

Have a nice summer boys wishful thinking.

Got our manager for next season back him the last 2 home games of this. Proved it yesterday on the pitch & off it.

Why would Warne consider coming back. Surely with MK almost certain to be in L1 would he drop back to L2.

I don’t often find myself agreeing with Gru but that yesterday clinched it for me give Lee Clark the job- Why could be asked we won but it’s too little too late as relegation already confirmed
My answer since he’s been here he gave the players the benefit of the doubt and they didn’t come up with the goods, so LC blows a gasket and plays the bad cop after the good cop act didn’t work result we win a game of football! It’s not just that it’s the circs behind it, we could so easily have thrown the towel in, we didn’t we won away as well clean sheet and on top of that LC battling a personal family matter, he made the game oversaw the result he wanted then departed back to the north east
Managers are hardly queueing up New York way to work for us, this guy seems to care, is committed and has decent values personally and professionally he doesn’t seem to be afraid to give youth a chance which will be ***** especially next year with a tight budget, also don’t forget he applied for the job before when we gave it Steve Evans first time around, for some strange reason he seems to care about the club and its fans , beggars can’t be choosers, can’t we give him say a years contract with a years option be good for both parties if he’s done a crap job we will be where we are now looking for a new manager, however if he does well we will presumably be top half league 2 or better his stock will have risen and we’ll be fighting off potential suitors which I’d sooner be because it will mean he’s done a good job

You’d be surprised. He dropped from derby to the bottom of 2. A new owner for sure he would. Anyhow, however unlikely at present, I did say someone akin.

Whether that inc clarke….I am unsure of. And now there is the barnsley speculation.

It's a waste of time speculating on a new manager, with no change at the top.We would attract no decent manager, based on the backing previous managers have had and the inadequate training facilities. We need investment and that won't happen under the present ownership, so fingers crossed Phil Smith can find us that wealthy, ambitious new owner.

Bill, he doesn't have to look too far really if you get my drift.....
