There's plenty of other local clubs if the Millers disappeared.

Three seasons of poor football abd owners who appear to have lost interest equals apathy from many fans .

I know people that live in Rotherham that are regular fans of:
                Derby
                Leeds
                Sheff W
                Sheff U
                Barnsley
                Doncaster
                Rotherham

And fair weather fans of the usual suspects of

                Liverpool
                Man U
                Man C
                Arsenal
                Chelsea.

It?s not demographically possible to grow over 10k fans. And that?s only when we are doing reasonably well.

We all remember the days of 3k-4K. And we all seemed much more content.

2026-27 will be our first season at NYS in L2 since 2012-13 when we benefitted immensely from the 'new stadium' bump in attendance. Last night's crowd of around 2-2.5K + visitors shows what a soulless place NYS can be, I don't recall hearing a single chant from the home fans, not even a COYR or Red Army.

Does Rotherham need to bother with a professional football club? Next season could be pivotal in answering that question. If it goes like 2012-13 then yes, if it goes in the opposite direction, who knows?

Crikey guys, we've been relegated. Nobody died.
No place 'needs' a professional football club, but how many other facilities in the town bring in people from the rest of the country?
This is the first time for ages that we've dropped to the bottom division not in administration.

Of course it needs a professional football club. Look at Rotherham as a town. It is rotting. It needs something to keep it alive. It needs people to keep investing in venues like the empire and get a music scene going in the town. Hopefully the Titans get a point on Saturday and get a bit more positivity into the town.

We cannot just be known for grooming gangs. We used to be known for steel, glass, always had a football team in the football league, had a rugby team in the top league.

We have been poorly supported for years, when you look at the size of the town and borough. Yes people spout that there are all these 'bigger' clubs nearby, but they also have large population too. Most home fans we get is around 8,000 excluding the away fans. Rotherham town has population of around 130,000 and the borough 270,000, so approximately 6% and 3%.

                        this is from last year,

Why did we bother putting in foundations for 20,000 seats, as we are nether going to develop the poorly designed family stand with our fan base.

Do you think that hysteria is from fans who've only ever known NYS and the promotions (relegations) and Wembley trips ?

If you went through Millmoor (Begera, Kerr etc) and DVS it's just a bump in the road.

                              We'll be back
