Well I gave my head a wobble and my hat fell off but it set me thinking, just how far off are we from being a Wednesday or Morecambe?Originally posted by UlleyMiller View PostLook at the state of this thread, and the behaviour of some of the posters. "Grown men". Absolutely no point discussing football with a lot of them, they're not here for that.
The club has some issues (like most do), but you'd think we were Wendies or Morecambe with some of the drivel on here. Give your heads a wobble.
It?s fairly clear that good financial governance at the club has been number 1 priority for all of the TS years but to do that we?ve ended up with a mediocre squad of managers and playersLast edited by Grist_To_The_Mill; 17-08-2025, 08:45 AM.

Ayup Pocket how u doing?Originally posted by Pocket rocket View PostWe are 3 games in. Apparently Revell is the answer. If he loses the next 3 will he still be the answer? That?s how stupid it is. Everything is reactive something the club gets accused of yet the supporters are the same. It looks like I?ll be the only one still thinking we can turn this round. I feel like MH 🤣🤣🤣
Good to see you are still holding the baton up for your club. Don?t let the b******* grind you down. It will be a sad day if you ever lose the faith.
We all know deep down that football has changed and it?s all down to the money. Rotherham have never been a rich club and now it appears TS has lost interest so tough days ahead most likely.
Being a fan is tough but doable. Being on message boards with invisible keyboard nutters can be mentally draining.

When Evans came in rob Scott was taken from his new role of director of football back to recruitment. He still looked and proposed players to the manager and the manager made the decisions.Originally posted by NorthWestCorner View PostAnd i agree - Rob Scott is clearly not doing it on purpose (it wasn?t me that suggested that) but I?m not sure he is actually a positive influence on the club anymore
Evans made a 2 year plan to get back into the championship and he failed but he chose the players. None of the players he signed bar maybe Raffety are giving anything like their heir best.
The budget is another thing and it is a thing of fiction.
If you take Warne out of the long list of managers then you can identify that we are in the same position management wise than when Evans walked away the first time.
Do you keep going round and round or do you trust someone to replicate what Warne did in terms of bringing on players, giving pride back to the supporters or do you sign another manager and then another until you have 4 managers on the pay roll like we did until last season?
Either way in 10 years time we will be a top half league one team!

Changing the management team isn't the answer, in fact in my opinion that would hurt the club a lot more.
There are some big issues with players and the ability to have players capable of playing.
In his interview MH said that Rafferty and McWilliams are also now carrying an injuries, are they real are is it the old cliche of players making the most out of every little twinge because there is no really desire to play? I would be surprised if that is the case with Rafferty, but is it an issue elsewhere in the squad.
Also we have new fitness people but injury issues seem to get worse, there has to be a root cause and not the supernatural explanation of bad luck, so what is the club doing to examine the root cause?.
I think the club need to help MH, and however they can get some players out of the club to allow him in the last few weeks to bring in his own players. Our middle engine can play 45 minutes only, shouldn't we let him move on. I know moving players on is hard, look at the difficulties at Man Utd and Chelsea in doing that, but I get a sense that the club isn't doing all it could to help the management team.

Dont get upset bout football anymore not since I got arrested. I come out of the match and celebrate winning losing or drawing. Ive got more things going off more important than football. We are all disappointed how weve started but as others have said its early days . Surely we have to wait until Christmas before making any judgments.

Changing the manager now would be a very difficult thing to do but, it is becoming obvious that MH is totally out of his depth. Recruitment, shape, tactics and authority are clearly missing.Originally posted by frogmiller View PostWhen Evans came in rob Scott was taken from his new role of director of football back to recruitment. So what does TS do? Sit back and let the car crash happen or intervene? The next set of fixtures are coming thick and fast. I cant see a point, never mind a win.
Adding to that, Id be surprised if TS will sanction any further spending based on the dross MH and RS has brought in.
The transfer window makes he chairmans job very difficult nowadays. He either pulls the trigger now or he has to ride it out. For me, he would be gone as there are zero signs of a clear way forward.

May I say you seem a tad disgruntled with everything related to the club at the moment. Please tell, will you carry on watching them ,after all there is still a long way to go .Originally posted by NorthWestCorner View PostChanging the manager now would be a very difficult thing to do but, it is becoming obvious that MH is totally out of his depth. We have a chairman who I wouldn't trust to run a bath at his age. He's played football manager with our money (season ticket sales etc.) and championship TV monies and decent enough player sales and failed so so badly. We must have paid a kings ransom out in compensation for this failure. Anyways, A goal scorer is key to our season. There's gaps in other areas but going down 1-0 in games and next to no way of coming back quickly goes 2-0 and heads drop. Our tails were up first half v Vale as we had a lead which gave us a bit of tempo. I think we are in danger of going down without a goal scorer but everyone needs those. Fingers crossed for good news this week.Originally posted by NorthWestCorner View PostChanging the manager now would be a very difficult thing to do but, it is becoming obvious that MH is totally out of his depth. The squad still needs major surgery, I think we all agree on that. A quick glance tells me 10 players have left so far this summer and we've brought in exactly that number, but we're far weaker right now.
People are saying we need a striker and we definitely do. We haven't scored a goal in 3 games and the only player to have scored this season is Nombe. We've created next to nothing in terms of goal scoring chances. 24% possession and 7 touches in the Cardiff box on Saturday according to FotMob. That's a massive concern. Anyone would think we're back in the Championship looking at those stats. This is L1 ffs.
I think we're in big trouble this season it'll take 2 or 3 transfer windows to get things right.

Great to hear from you mate. Im still plodding on home and away. I think TS has certainly decided to close the cash register and tbh I understand hes not getting any younger.Originally posted by PeteWaller View PostAyup Pocket how u doing?

We are what we are that said weve wasted some opportunities to kick on.
I think MH given time will get it right. Although reading some of the stuff on here Id check his tyres in the morning 😁 if I were him.
I hope you and the good lady are well mate. Great to hear from you.
