Players contracts that are due to end normally end 30th June.
But nothing stopping players agents talking to other clubs.
Instance 1 player we need to keep is Powell, but if Lee Clark is out of a job in technical terms, he can not offer players a contract.
We don't know whether the new bloke on the board as any clout in deciding issues.
Paul Douglas, just the fetch & carry bloke, so no good looking at him.
But if TS son in charge now, & not just a puppet for his father, he should make the decision on whether Lee Clark is offered a new contract, that's unless he's gone on holiday also.

Look, Smith was just a PR stunt, info put out when under pressure from fans. This chairman is past his sell by date and he knows it.

I quite agree. He would have no idea at this level,

I will expand on that. Racehorses are different to carthorses. Carthorses would not understand him and stewart would not spend thee required amount anyway.

Smith and maclaren are just PR stunts, making an impression. None of it is going to happen. If by some miracle he actually sold to the swiss, got maclaren here, he would now not be on the cruise. It would still leave 2-3 weeks before an appointment could be made and yet again behind the curve.

To sell and leave the club at this point, like being AWOL today at a marvellous charity fixture making out it is a RUFC event is typical.

The club statement put out to fans began “millers supporters”. Dismissive, condescending, arrogant a start. Meandering missive and repetitive throughout. No mention of a resolution.
Stewart had a major stake in getting the ground built and ownership. That’s all, does he own outright? Doubt it. People need to wake up to a few things. And he explained at length about that in an article himself.
Selling the ground would involve complications.

What is being done over Clark is an utter disgrace, the club in general. Season tickets are going to evaporate.

But, to quote Smith, relegation only matters to the fans.

                Stuff them.

And neither will get past stewart or work with or for him. You miss the point.

                      Totally agree Towner.

Anyone who can't see what SM would bring to this football club needs to give their head a wobble and go and watch a different sport.

Some old fossils on here have been whinging that we need someone behind the scenes who understands football. Well SM has managed at the highest level, both abroad and domestically. Worked with some of the best players in the world. Assistant manager to Alex Ferguson. He'll have contacts. He'll attract players to the club...but he's not the man for Rotherham United FFS.

If it's not SM, has anyone seen Wayne Rooney anywhere within a radius of 200 miles of Rotherham? Well it's obvious then, he must be next up for the job as head coach.
                          Allegedly.

                            ..

Fully agree. The first thing Phil Smith needs to do is massively improve the communication skills within this club. This should start with an announcement from him, explaining where we stand on the takeover because TS seems to have totally lost interest.Does that mean he has already sold the club?

TS shocking decision to be absent at this time, no way to treat Clark either.

Rooney probably trying to forget his association with Rotherham
