    The google AI argument

    The wally with the brolly.

    1. The Ultimate Old Boys' Club "Masterstroke"

Let’s be real: this isn’t a strategic appointment; it’s a golden parachute for an old friend. Hiring a 65-year-old dinosaur based entirely on a cosy relationship with Chairman Tony Stewart is the hallmark of a club completely out of ideas. While forward-thinking teams are using cutting-edge data analytics to find modern advantages, Rotherham have opted for pure, unadulterated cronyism. McClaren is a relic of an era that modern football left behind a decade ago. Relying on historical networking instead of an actual 21st-century blueprint guarantees one thing: an expensive, outdated strategy that will leave the club completely blind to modern lower-league realities.

    2. A Certified Blueprint for Choking

If history has proven anything, it is that the moment Steve McClaren becomes the primary architect of a football project, the entire structure completely collapses. From the rain-soaked humiliation with England to driving Newcastle into the ground, right up to his latest failure to secure World Cup qualification with Jamaica, his DNA is hardwired to choke under pressure. Rebuilding a shattered, recently relegated club requires elite psychological resilience, not a man whose name is literally synonymous with crumbling on the big stage. The second Rotherham hit a rough patch in the brutal League Two calendar, McClaren’s fragile house of cards will fold, and the fanbase will rightfully turn on a bloated, top-tier executive experiment that people saw failing from day one.

      I think it?s a great appointment and it?s what we have needed/wanted.
what we needed were new forward thinking owners to drag this club into the new world, we will see when season tickets go on sale what the fans think , I do love the blind faith of some fans tho .

Give SM a chance. Needs to get a head coach in now fans believe in to get them backing the club again through the turnstiles.

Everything is blind faith. Name me any appointment that is guaranteed success? I choose to give people a chance before writing them off novel ideas I know but it?s better than just thinking everything is ****.
            Respect your opinion though.

Seen both interviews TS & SM. Former he's in his 80's he told it like it is wasn't saying what can't happen but still gets his knockers. Was up front he'll always have my backing. Latter don't know how we've got him so go with it got to be better than the last 3 seasons.

McClaren's appointment has got Phil Smith's fingerprints all over it.

Phil Smith, the hugely successful businessman who has an impeccable understanding of the corporate world, business organisational structure and what is needed in terms of hierarchy and responsibilities.

Phil Smith, the hugely successful businessman who has a critical understanding of marketing and how to enhance a business's profile.

Phil Smith, the very wealthy businessman with the sort of gravitas and contacts that the club desperately needs in the turbulent times of change and succession planning.

Phil Smith, the lifelong Miller, dedicated to the cause of helping a clearly struggling RUFC board in an increasingly corporatised football world.

Nah.... not what we need at all.
