So basically it doesn't matter what Paul Simpson has won in the past but if it it's Nigel Clough, then that's different.

Also, Clough is older than Paul Simpson. Yet you said Simpson wouldn't be hungry for success at his age. That doesn't apply to Clough then?

    FFS.

I wouldn't expect you to be happy if we won the league by 20 points and scored 100 goals next season. You'd find something to whinge about.

Go on, have a good whine about it, you know you want to!

It isn't that i am moaning about those two, it is i don't feel enthused by them, and to be honest I don't really know why. Mclaren strikes me as an odd person, he has done ok when he has been second in charge or a coach but as the main man he hasn't come across as having the personality to be a leader, however i do not know him and he has the contacts and i suppose it puts the club on the map. Simpson, he does have a record that is a fair comment, perhaps he will do well.
I don't know why but i don't feel excited by this, perhaps it is because we have been beaten over the head with a few awful seasons. I think we have to see who we sign and what we do about the want away players.

Got to hope Hprman doesn't get one right for once! Before he said it was McClaren & Lee Clark.

If this is true... let's all agree to pass judgment on them when we have some facts to chew on eh? Eg after ten games.

I enjoyed watching Simpson play when he was at Wolves so if he can get that type of performance out of whatever squad we end up with we will do ok.

You really are a simpleton aren’t you Chris.
You complain on here about people getting abusive then have a go at posters.
You don’t have the knowledge that hellosphan has so you just have a go.
You were the same before when you kept going on about Stubbs Chris.
He’s correct you won’t ever be happy because that’s not what you are here for. You just want to argue with someone, anyone.
People know you are the one who obsessed about Stubbs and argued with everyone Chris.
Hellosphan is correct but that’s not the point to you.
You are what is known as a few drops short of a piss.

If this is true then I think it's great news. It's a positive step and shows the club are serious about a rebuild. We've had a horrible three years, there's no doubting that, so I can understand some people being cynical. But lets just give it a chance to work. I'm starting to think that some folk actually want the club to fail just so they can have the grand accolade of being right on a message board used by people they've never met.

Announcement delayed to wait for his royal highness to return from holiday, what an ego. Not impressed with the way this club is run at all, good luck to McLaren or anyone that has to operate in that environment.

Agree with this can only think he wants to get his photo taken with an England manager and with it being his friend wants to take the credit
Paul Davis saying also this appointment nothing to do with the Swiss lot or any potential takeover very confusing as surely Lee Clark would have been a cheaper appointment £ wise than McLaren?
People on here saying any takeover may take a while something we don’t have positive thing though is surely now we have someone in charge team wise we can start to make plans (presumably manager to follow) as regards recruitment friendlys and getting to the bottom of this injury fiasco
As I have said though I really don’t know what to make of the McLaren appointment if the takeover thing/fresh money injection is happening maybe it’s not and it’s just going to be the TS show again
