Because of his role, the assumption will be that McClaren will have his own ideas on how he wants us to play this coming season. So based on that, you'd imagine he'd appoint someone willing and capable of coaching his ideas through - not necessarily someone with the best CV.

Burchnall wouldn't be my choice but if SM thinks he would fit into the current structure then I'll certainly back him. The positive around Burchnall is that he will certainly have something to prove.

The other good news is that it won't be Tony choosing the next head coach.

He can only do the job if given the tools to do it so Millers fans would be well warned to look behind them up at the prawn sarnie mob as that is where TS and McLaren will be

If McC wanted to be the manager I'm sure the job would be his,however he doesn't.
Someone else will have that job.
