  • Season ticket renewals

Is the appointment of SM the rabbit out of the hat action TS believes will salvage season ticket sales with the announcement of prices for next season expected soon?

I would have renewed mine regardless as I'm a glutton for punishment. The SM appointment does give me slightly more optimism but we still need to get the manager/head coach appointment right.

I honestly think we will be lucky to sell 5000, TS will have spent all his budget on SM and the new manager will have to operate on peanuts

According to TS the level of season ticket sales will determine the standard of striker we can obtain.
    So really nothing has changed.

so it will be the fans fault if a load of **** is brought in . Think Rotherham will be lucky to sell four thousand season tickets maybe depending what the price of said tickets are .

Plymouth have a very large catchment area for fans. Torquay and Exeter are their nearest local rivals and both are 30 miles plus away. If only we had that luxury

A club like ours relies on season ticket sales, the more we sell, the more money we have for the squad, simple really.

That's what TS seemed to be implying without saying it in so many words.
He seems oblivious to the damage caused by the mismanagement of himself and his board of yes men over the last 3 seasons
Looks like we're probably going to get another distinctly average striker then ☹️

I will be angry if season tickets go up ....even in line with inflation which is now 2.8 per cent.
We are in an inferior league to last year with an inferior level of quality on display.
We the fans were short changed last year and Mr Stewart must take this into account when setting the prices
He will be worse off if prices go up and he'll be seeing a lot of empty red seats.
Do the right thing Mr Stewart. Don't alienate us the fans any more. We are Rotherham United. Not journeymen players, managers and assorted hangers on

Well mellow, stewart was rambling on with so much waffle, I must have missed the implied. It does NOT bode well.

I think it is looking likely that having possibly learned the lesson, or more likely the buck is passed to SM if it goes belly up. But bringing into equation sales equals quality is a poor excuse. There are the tv rights, commercial, etc, not just gates bringing money in.
Lets be right about it, what, near 40% on a seat in the W and E must be concessions, so for me it does not equate.

                      A stewart leverage?

SM said it isn’t about promotion it is all about stopping the decline, so mid-table is the target then. Day later TS says buy season tickets or you won’t get the players we need. I think we will struggle this season, who the coach is will make little difference, because we won’t have the money for players. If we are not doing well SM won’t be able to stop himself sticking his nose into the coach space, and TS already has his excuses ready, 1. SM runs everything football 2. The new rules means the season tickets sales are more important and they were disappointing so not my fault gov.

Surely if you offer an inferior product, League 2, then you really can’t expect to charge top dollar prices.

There should be NO increase on last season’s ST prices, but when you factor in probably less being sold this coming season then the shortfall will have to be picked up somewhere.

Get ready for the backlash Tony if you even dare think about increasing ST prices. You’ve saved countless millions on the high earners who have now left the club so operational costs should be a hell of a lot lower for this coming season if we’re shopping bargain basement for players.

A sensible man would reduce the price by 5% as a gesture and also have schemes in place to get more families and kids in to fill the ground. We are supposed to have a commercial non-executive involved now surely we will see his influence coming through.

Note: did you see the cards held up at the darts in Sheffield last night, the bring back Steve Evan’s cards?

Whatever happened to the Swiss consortium that were going to be the best thing since sliced cheese? Surely they would have been up front and centre with all the dealings being negotiated with a D of S and Head Coach appointments?
Cloud cuckoo clock land springs to mind.

For that reason, season ticket wise, I'm out.
