  • We are 9/1 joint favourites to win the title next season!

Yes we actually are! Now as much as many may laugh at this supposed scenario, let me put this to you.

Last season and way before we showed signs of any real danger of relegation, the bookies suddenly turned on us and had us to be relegated. They always say bookies know more than their mug punters and are often more right than wrong and sad to say .......they were.

The current climate shows us to be in a crisis with both the Head Coach/Player recruitment situation, however, here we have us on short odds so maybe they've taken onboard the McClaren position and what he may be able to deliver for us.

If you fancy us to do it, then @ 9/1 you better get your bets on now, IF, you believe the bookies.

There may be a slow start from us and the odds may very well lengthen but, looking at who's in League 2 for next season, they won't lengthen dramatically.

    Here's the full odds:

    Winner 2026/27
Each Way: 1/4 Odds, 3 Places

    Barnet 9/1

    Rotherham 9/1

    Port Vale 9/1

    Salford City 10/1

    Chesterfield 10/1

    Bristol Rovers 11/1

    York 11/1

    Grimsby 11/1

    Gillingham 12/1

    Swindon 14/1

    Northampton 14/1

    Colchester 16/1

    Oldham 16/1

    Crewe 18/1

    Walsall 18/1

    Exeter 28/1

    Rochdale 28/1

    Tranmere 33/1

    Fleetwood Town 33/1

    Crawley Town 33/1

    Shrewsbury 33/1

    Accrington 50/1

    Cheltenham 50/1

    Newport County 66/1

With the way Evo rescued Brizzy R and delivered promotion stats in the closing stages of last season, I feel they are worht a punt @ 11/1 and a few shillings will be placed on them, if not to win the title then to go up.

Interesting to see Newports odds of 66/1. If only because that was Rotherham?s odds in 1980/81

Put double stake you've put on to win the title on to get promoted covers bet up to a point.

and if we don't do either? You've lost triple your money. Can see now why you packed the bookies in after losing so much

Northampton Town could be worth a punt for promotion.
New investment into the club, new manager.
Sam Hoskins signed a new contract.
Tom Eaves released by the Cobblers.

Gambling it's a risk. Either you take it or don't. Remember once what I'd won in the afternoon I put on a 1-4 chance on the flat in 4 runner race at night it finished 2nd. That knocked my duck off!

For some random reason I can remember you saying that your duck was 'knocked off' when McGuckin was sent to Eastleigh on loan.
