  • Tom Ince

    Free agent, released by Watford.
McClaren signed him when he was at Derby so he'll know him personally.

34 years old, made 27 appearances for Watford last season, including 10 starts. Scored 4 goals last season.

As an aside, Paul Warne signed Mendez-Laing for MK Dons last season (also 34 now) and he got 10 goals for them in L2 last season.

Would we have Tom Ince here?

I would. He’s always scored at NYS before.

Because he?s not 12 and has actually shown that he can play.

Another cut inside player. Never convinced me anyway. Need some proper wide players.

Too old, wasn’t much good for reading at NYS either. And ML was injured half the season. We do not need another kelly.

No, might end up an expensive signing. Rather spend daft wages on someone who could have more value.

I thought we were going to build a young side for the future & here we are on about a 34yr old. No thanks. If we are going down the old man route I would rather have an experienced midfield leader.

Apart from Rafferty, most of the players we have left are young ,especially the defenders, could do with 2 or 3 experienced players signing.
Not saying Ince would be any good.

I think with the money situation we will have a few loan players.

I think yes as long as he is fit enough, it makes a statement if we recruit a named player alongside SM, something needs to happen because at the moment the silence is deafening

That was when Hamshaw was manager.
Who knows what the hell the strategy will be this season?
If we don't get a manager soon we'll end up scrabbling round for scraps in the bargain bin.

McLaren will be the one deciding who we sign and he?s most likely well along that path. I think we are awaiting the arrival of a head coach rather than a manager.
