  • World Cup - FIFA Stop Reusable Water Bottles in Stadiums

    World Cup 2026
Fifa have decided to stop fans taking reusable water bottles into games, stating that the bottles could be used as missiles, which could injure players, match officials & other fans.
Also cans, jars & cups have been banned from being taken into games.
But fans will able to buy bottles of water etc in the stadiums.
So are not the bottles in the stadiums same, & can be used as missiles.
The real story is FIFA want to make sure they make money from fans, they don't want profits to go down.
I read that some stadiums have water fountains, but fans will still need cups etc to drink out of.
With the heat in the stadiums being high,, fans will need to have water etc.
To me this is FIFA maximising profits.

Isn't it more to do with fans not taking alcohol in to the game in their plastic bottles.

All big tournaments are a racket, but this one has taken it to a whole new level.

I've thrown some daft money away in my life on gambling but one thing I'm proud to say I've never once paid for water apart from when water rates need paying.

You might be wasting a bit of money there Eric - most Euro countries are just as safe to drink from the tap as the UK. Here's a good breakdown:

Only 50 countries offer drinkable tap water, most of which are in Europe. In comparison, only 3 North American countries (the US, Canada, and Costa Rica) and one South American nation (Chile) have drinkable tap water. Every African country and most countries in parts of Asia and Oceania lack safe water.
