I don't even think it is true. If he liked the manager he might get a dab on, if he didn't he wouldn't even need a shower after the game.
He was dreadful. My abiding memory of him is watching the defender, not the ball when it was hoofed upfield to him. Then because he had so little confidence in his strength and ability, throwing himself to the floor to try and get a foul
