Having said that, producing three birdies with a tricky word AFTER the competition is an impressive MM performance.

So a quick change from our expensive Footjoy golf spikes into a pair of rented bowling shoes no doubt worn by folk with countless foot ailments and we're off again with another WORDLE sporting challenge. Will raging be able to cope with the ready availability of alcohol during play? The event will run for 10 days (or 11/12 for some if they bowl a STRIKE/SPARE on days 9 or 10). Normal 10 pin bowling scoring will be used (don't worry if you don't know how it works I'll do it for you) and at the end of the competition the winner will take home the MM Golden Pin. Here's how WORDLE scores will translate to bowling scores.

1-2 = STRIKE X
3 = SPARE /
4 = 8
5 = 5
6 = 2
FAIL = 0 (Get the bumpers out )

Clever that, CAM. I’d have thought there was an argument for making 1-3 a strike and 4 a spare with lower scores for the rest. Otherwise we’ll only see a strike in a blue moon.

It's a close call CT. Using my statistics I get a 2 in Wordle 7% of the time, a 3 27% of the time and a 4 39% of the time. I guess it depends how good you are at bowling but using your figures would indicate me getting 3 to 4 strikes per game and 3 to 4 spares per game which I think I might have actually achieved once in my bowling career. To my mind a 'par' in amateur bowling is around an 8 so I matched that to a 4 what we have historically considered 'par'.

Let's give my scoring a go and see how it goes. I'm sure raging will complain

I scored another parp 4 today so that gives me an 8 on the scoring chart CAM put down.
