I have only one identity on here Grist unlike you, but I appreciate that your bitterness won't let you see that.

I doubt if cut and paste would contain so many typos (posting while having a quick sandwich does that), but if you can demonstrate that I've cut and posted a single word of it I will not post on here again. I can't say fairer than that old chap.

Blah, blah, blah Grist - as usual.

Can you show me where I've copy and posted. You made the allegation so surely you'd be keen to prove it. Or do you want those people who haven't worked it out yet to know that you talk crap?

Have you checked whether he has a point? The UK is one of the most heavily vaccinated countries in the world and also one that is quite good at making data available about such things as cancer deaths. So, if he has a point, that data would show an (above trend) increase would it not?

Take a look. Spoiler: it’s just like the miscarriage claims that we discussed earlier in the thread. There is simply no evidence to support his anecdotes.

In fairness, Dalgliesh is certainly not an antivaxxer. He’s the chief scientific officer of a company called Immunor, which is developing a vaccine called IMM-101. In his recent appearance on the John Campbell’s podcast, he suggested that IMM-101 could be used a covid vaccine, despite it never have trialled to see if it works. He’s Dr Susan Oliver's take on that:

So Dalgleish doesn’t think we should be using the mRNA vaccines that were developed for Covid and would prefer that we use IMM-101 instead, despite it never having been trialled for that disease. Fancy that.

That’s twice you’ve referred to people talking in videos as failed politicians.

I once was voted in as a councillor in my old village. Even at that level it’s a closed shop.
Try it if you haven’t already. Make decisions that effect people’s lives.

This is somewhat more anecdotal and less readable, in my opinion, but it is useful to explain how platforms such as X can be weaponised to spread misinformation:

Kerr! Don’t, a US senate has made Facebook owners apologise to families who have lost loved ones because of the way it directs it algorithms to show more harmful content.

Twitter or X took down a record number of misinformation and sèxual content. 1.2 million accounts were taken down. They have agreed to invest more in AI and employ more people so that they can do more.

Mis or mal information is the new buzzword to keep control of the narrative.

              • Your dear leader

HOLY CRAP Vaccine injured man let’s rip into UK Prime Minister Rishi Sunak over his & others Covid vaccine injuries. Clearly a calculated move in letting this happen, 3 years too late & of course we get a stock answer from the PM - he knows they’ve all been silenced & https://t.co/d8sDLiIzjl

Are you saying that Dalgliesh isn't a failed politician? He stood for Parliament as a UKIP candidate in 2015 and didn’t win, although I suppose you could say that he was a winner in the 2016 referendum. It’s just a pity that the country wasn’t…

It sounds like you and I have had similar experiences of local government. I resigned over a decision that I saw as nothing but a way to waste public money and agree with you about the closed shop nature of the exercise - that's what allowed the waste of money to be voted through.

The Social Media companies don’t do nearly enough to clamp down on misinformation, although I accept that it is difficult to draw the line in a way that doesn’t interfere with legitimate debate.

If X did enough, you wouldn’t have seen the misleading fear p0rn spread by ‘DiedSuddenly’ when he or she implied that the Medicago operation was aimed at introducing vaccines into the food chain, which simply isn’t true. Doesn’t it bother you that you were presented with that information, accepted it and spread it further?

Isn’t complaining about ‘the narrative’ nothing more than complaining that misinformation gets called out and corrected from time to time? That is surely what should happen, particularly when the misinformation being spread is dangerous.

Try the first of the two books that I suggested. I'm not suggesting that it would change your views about anything, but you may find it interesting. We could start a MillersMad book club thread. The site certainly needs something right now to try to breathe life back into it.

It does interest me that right leaning individuals and media bodies seem to be more amenable to conspiracy theories.

Which is another way of saying, "Left-leaning individuals are far more likely to comply with whatever bullsh*t the government and mainstream media throw at them".

                              • He is your leader because he’s the prime minister of the uk. Unless you don’t live or pay taxes in the uk then he’s your prime minister and the prime minister is the leader.

You know where the term conspiracy theory comes from don’t?

Some say they are the truth tellers.

I am intelligent enough to understand what’s happened to me and is happening to others. My neighbours mother was diagnosed with cancer in late December and she died Sunday night. Some would say that it was a turbo cancer but that’s a conspiracy!
