Shrewsbury Town boss Michael Appleton has signed a two-year contract as the club's permanent manager. The 49-year-old was appointed head coach on 26 March on a deal for the rest of the current campaign, following Gareth Ainsworth's departure for Gillingham.

One name linked with the job should Selles leave in the coming days, has been Tony Mowbray. The experienced former Middlesbrough, Sunderland and Blackburn Rovers chief, who was sacked by West Brom last month after a poor run of form, is not under consideration in any way, sources within the club's hierarchy have told Hull Live.
