Looks like it didn't wok out for him.

Sacking someone after losing the opener to a newly relegated side, and therefore taking away the summer for a new manager seems like either the height of stupidity, or points at a lot of issues behind the scenes.

How the heck does a club sack a Manger after only 1 game in to a full season???? Something seriously wrong at Preston but, if Lowe wants his pay off he will have had to sign a confidentiality form to get his dosh. Dear oh dear......Evo watch your back!

I think the strong reaction of the Preston fans on social media after the defeat to Sheffield United probably did for him.
Apparently he said he was pleased with a lot of aspects of the Preston performance which provoked widespread anger and ridicule.
It does seem ridiculous to sack him after just one game but unfortunately that's symptomatic of the modern game and the power of social media.
