Is it really a good idea to make Hammy temporary?

I know you resent ever admitting you're wrong but use your brain gru. They were forced to bring those in to replace Hamshaw and Warrington. If they'd stayed the new coaches wouldn't be there.Last edited by Masbroughstreet; 31-03-2025, 12:04 PM.

Didn't the new manager bring his own coaching staff in 1st? before Hamshaw Warrington stepped down from their roles at Derby?

Two of the coaches came in before, The Goalkeeper coach came in after. Also remember that bigger clubs with bigger budgets often operate with several coaches rather than the bare minimum that we do.Originally posted by RU66 View PostDidn't the new manager bring his own coaching staff in 1st? before Hamshaw Warrington stepped down from their roles at Derby?
I don't know why you can't accept that Hamshaw and Warrington weren't sacked?

Good on Hamshaw and Warrington to resign from their roles at Derby having the belief and confidence in themselves to move into management. That?s a good attitude.
Still not convinced that the players will turn out to be much better whoever manages them. We have been poor for most of the season barring a few decent performances. Consistency is the sign of a decent player (not consistently poor btw).

Absolutely Pocket.Originally posted by Pocket rocket View PostWouldn?t it be great if we all could just get behind the decision till the end of the season?
I won?t hold my breath.
I'm delighted the previous duo have been moved on and I really want Hamshaw, Warrington and whoever else they bring in to be successful always assuming they will want to stay beyond the end of this season.
I don't think we will learn much from tomorrow night's match as they will only have had one full day to work with the squad but I'm looking forward to seeing if there's a significant improvement in attitude from the team on Saturday.

Did you actually read the last paragraph of the statement from Derby?Originally posted by RU66 View PostJust looked Derby coaching staff with new manager they have an Assistant Head coach 1st team/goalkeeper coaches so I can't see where Hamshaw Warrington would have roles there no ones they had.
Surely even you can understand what that means.

The alternative they had was to stay in the job and continue getting paid until their contracts expired. It might noy have been ideal but they would have still been in a job.Originally posted by RU66 View PostRead it but what alternative did they have? They wouldn't have been part of the new managers long term plans.

Mellow - the most significant difference tomorrow night should be the application and effort. It was quite clear on Saturday, that the players were as keen as the crowd to get shut of SE and their enthusiasm was negligible. I'm expecting a positive response to the post-Evans era!Originally posted by mellowmiller View PostI don't think we will learn much from tomorrow night's match as they will only have had one full day to work with the squad but I'm looking forward to seeing if there's a significant improvement in attitude from the team on Saturday.

The worrying thing is that Eustace has now got his feet under the table Derby have won 3 games on the spin. It's looking likely that they could stop up.Under Warne et al,they had totally gone and were certs for relegation. However,we have regressed so far backwards a decent League 1 manager is all we ask for and the thoughts of whether our manager can cut it at Championship level seem totally irrelevant. Hamshaw and Warrington are great appointments given the circumstances.Originally posted by CAMiller View PostThe alternative they had was to stay in the job and continue getting paid until their contracts expired. Excellent precisOriginally posted by GlennMiller View PostHamshaw knows the Rotherham DNA, he's a local lad and worked as First Team Coach under the most successful League One manager we've ever had. As an interim manager he's ideal; whether he's good for the long term will be determined by how he acquits himself over the remainder of the season.
The most interesting thing for me will be the reaction of the players. I always considered the individual team members were better than the team that Evans put together and that because of his appalling leadership and his antiquated tactics, players were not able to play to their full potential.
I'm expecting a massive improvement in effort and quality. Any player who fails to come up to snuff can do one!
