  • A catch up with Hammy at Roundwood

Seems calm and cool with the way things are going, no need for panic and patience is called for.

Well if he's happy with all that we'll have to sit back and wait then. Contract offers still to be accepted or dealt with but the clock says two weeks before the team returns for full training.

This situation is getting tighter than ELK offering to get a round in......tic toc as they say.

Yes patience is needed and Hammy has his other obligations on Clarksons Farm to look after

I thought they weren't going to hang about waiting for answers from those players who have been offered new contracts, like Cam Humphreys for example?

Only as a centre back I'd keep him. McGuckin more interested in hope we haven't drove him away wouldn't blame him.

Mellow, looking at those three, I still feel Humphries will call it a day and move on.

As for Kayode, he's now back to full fitness so the offer of restricted pay as you play put to him may not be appealing so you would imagine that his agent is working hard to find him a full time contract but, with his chequered injury record I feel there won't be many Managers out there looking to take a gamble on him.

McGuckin. A young man who sees many players in front of him thus lessening his chance of first team football. He may well also find his football elsewhere but decision time looms large. As a Manager having only a short period in which to fill their positions, should they move on or delay answering, their choice may well be made up for them sooner than they think.

The team are due to report back in 14 days time so one would imagine today is D-Day for these three.

I agree with all of that Brin which makes the delay even stranger considering how quickly the club moved to get an answer from Odoffin who had far more to offer than these three.
Personally, Humphreys is the one I would prefer to stay because he's at a different level to the other two......which is why he's probably most likely to move on
MH has said some warm words about Kayode and seems to think he can develop him into a worthwhile asset but McGuckin doesn't seem to have improved despite having several loans to non-league clubs.
            Maybe that's his level?

Mcguckin wasn't he voted player of last season at Yeovil? I still think how he's never been given a real chance here is making him look at other options.

Mellow, I believe Humphries is still on his jollies in Italy so may have sorted himself already and has no desire to inform the club he's been set up elsewhere or, flip the coin and his agent hasn't secured anything for him so he'll sign on the last minute.....wishful thinking me thinks.

You're probably right about McGuckin and irrespective of RU66's new fixation, he has too may in front of him to get a regualr run so Yeovil sounds nice for him. Good luck to him he's only a young lad and he will either find his way in football or drop by the wayside like many do, where is Lammy these days?

No idea.......but they are a non-league club so that may be his level.
It would be nice if he could make it here but he doesn't seem to have developed much as a player after numerous loans and we can't afford to be sentimental and carry passengers in the squad.
Maybe Yeovil would be the best option for him if he wants to play regularly.

McGuckin got to give him a 2 year contract with a further years option. Wasn't like your usual embryonic youth player at their age he was up to strength even then. Strong running player as well.

Hmm, so you watched him at youth level then? Funny how you haven't mentioned it before.
I certainly wouldn't describe him as strong because on the few occasions he's played for us he got knocked off the ball too easily.
He may have a chance if he bulks up a bit though.

He was 19 when he played in the friendly's nearly 2 seasons ago.
