First World Club game here in Seattle yesterday where the Sounders lost 2-1 to Brazilian team Botafogo F.C. Disappointing crowd of just over 30K.

Other teams visiting Seattle over the next couple of weeks include River Plate, Inter Milan, Atletico Madrid and I'll be working at the Seattle v PSG game a week from today. It will be interesting to see what crowds are attracted to see those teams, especially os both teams from the Champions League final are here.

I have a feeling that interest in this revamped competition probably won't really pick up until the knockout stages.
Obscene amounts of money for the successful teams which could prove detrimental to some countries' domestic leagues.

True. There have been grumblings about how the money is being shared out.

80K did turn up in LA yesterday to see PSG demolish Atletico. It'll be interesting to see how Seattle fare against that pair.
