  • O/T Wetherspoons Pubs

    Wetherspoons pubs.

I have the Wetherspoons app on my mobile phone, handy when the bar is full,
just order drinks & meals if required, which are then brought to the table.

    Thursday 12th June

I had a message from Wetherspoons on the app, telling me my nearest Wetherspoons pub,
I had to laugh, it turned out it was in the town of Deal in Kent, England which was
    1,650 miles away.

Ps - There is a Turkish version of Wetherspoons in Marmaris, which I went in last year, but
    spelt different.
ie - Weatherspoons Fun Pub, Marmaris, open 24 hours a day.

There's a nice one in Ilfracombe with a terrace.

Not for me. There's more I wouldn't recommend for food.

How would you know about the food if the pubs are not for you.

The annoying thing about Wetherspoons is the practice of forcing people at gun point to go in them

                    I know.

Went to a concert the other day with my other half. Two cans of beer and a ****ty wine and soda. ?30+

                    Then we have Wetherspoons.

I like a whisky and dry, if I'm not drinking ale. Bell's isn't my favourite whisky but ?1.25 for a single + bottle of ginger ale, at more than a few Wetherspoon pubs is not a reason to be a snob and walk past one.

Wombwell, Queens and Bluecoats you can get a breakfast for less than ?2.50 and a coffee (refills) for about ?1.20.

Yet here we have knob ends knocking the place.

                    Laughable

Gru prefers a pub that closed 20 years ago, has been knocked down and is now a Spar.

The wife and I sat in Benjamin huntsman for a couple of hours before the only fools and horses musical a few weeks back.
                      Can?t fault the value.

If you want ham, egg, chips and a pint for under a tenner it?s spot on.

The one in Harrogate is a thing of beauty and would probably be a derelict building if it wasn?t a spoons.

I know that one. It's called The Sir Norman Wisdom. Took my Mum there on her 90th birthday. But I would never go in the evening to a 'Spoons.

When I go to Sheffield on a pub crawl, always start in the Benjamin Huntsman, after catching a train to Rotherham
station, then connecting to the tram up to Cathedral at Sheffield, then its walking down through Sheffield at
different pubs, other pubs as well as Wetherspoons.
Better than catching train to Sheffield, then having to walk upwards through Sheffield, also done train to Meadowhall,
then connected to tram up to City Hall.

Yes that's the pub, what was shown along with another one in Dover.

I?d never knock spoons, you know what you?re getting. Ok it?s not the best ale going, but if you want a proper premium beer go to a tap or micro pub that serve them.

As for the snap, fills an oil. And them breakfasts for what you pay are unbeatable imo.
