Only a rumour from afar but allegedly Taylor is still not fully paid off yet......like I say a rumour so I'll take that with a pinch o' salt. If it's true though then well, that is where the money is still going never mind Hugill/Clarke-Harris.

      Has Humphries bottled it here?

It is a bewildering move IBS but he can't have had any Championship offers. Only 2 years as well. I'm dying to find out where Oddofin ends up because that could really start to paint a picture of things behind the scenes at the NYS.

I too am gobsmacked at this move. i thought high end league one or relegated champ teams.
I was told last week he wasn't signing but presumed it was for a better offer. Though saying that. It could have been ☹️

Never a championship player that's why he played there for us. Won't miss him but depends who we get in at centre back this season only got Douglas whose fit up to now unproven though.

According to BBC transfers, Humphreys transfer is undisclosed.
When actually out of contract with the Millers end of June, so a free transfer.
              No fee to the Millers.

Typical player that comes through the elite academies nowadays, can play out from the back but cannot defend. It's sad that in ten years time, there won't be a Woody type player, even in the lower leagues. Pep has a lot to answer for.

His application was at points atrocious last season (some of that is down to the lack of preparation under the previous regime) and he hasn't been the same player since the injury. I was astonished that there was some chatter of him moving to Championship clubs.

I think he needs a clean break, and wish him every success in the future.

Late text received last night telling me Stewart has cut the wage budget by 2 million, sounds too high that but looking at what we've received so far, two freebies, it may well be true.

Part of that may be due to the fact Evans/Raynor have still yet to be paid off.

Good luck Hammy sounds like you're going to need it!
Brin I can understand why this has happened, the parachute payment for relegation from the Championship is for 1 year only, it is something like 13% of the tv money for 1 year so let's say that is roughly comes to circa ?900k of lost revenue that we will not get this year, the pay to Evans and Raynor until they get a new job may well be another ?750k per year. So in real terms that's money that will also be coming out of the club before the playing budget is given to Hamshaw. I suspect that Hamshaw may have also spent more on better quality support staff than Evo did, so let's say that's where the other ?350k of money that has come out of the playing budget has gone.

When you look at it like that its not quite the same as a ?2m cut to the budget is it? Stewart is probably still putting the same level of funding into the club.

The chatter is that his agent has been feeding him with the message that there are plenty of Championship clubs interested, and he would get a deal with one of them. Those clubs have one by one disappeared when the time came to firm up interest.

Hamshaw has been polite to the press but Humphreys had burnt his bridges with us by delaying his decision and wanting more time when the deadline arrived, so he was politely told last week that it was better that he moved on.

Port Vale are well funded by new owners so I expect they will have happily paid the £250k signing on fee his agent was apparently demanding and that might well be the only reason he has gone there.

For me as someone else has said he is a typical product of an academy, everything is given to them at a young age and they stroll about looking good. I have seen him around at NYS when he has not been playing and he is a happy go lucky pleasant guy without a care in the world. But has he got the commitment and application to succeed and get the best out of his talents, or is he thinking about tonight's PlayStation game with his mates when the cross comes in, I know what I think I hope he proves me wrong.

Vale friend of mine can't believe they've signed him. Doesn't think they have the money to compete with us.

                      All about perception eh?
