  • RIP Ken Houghton

So sad to hear of the passing of Ken Houghton.

Just shy of 150 appearances in a 5 year career with the Millers. 56 goals is testament to his ability.

    Loved him as a player.

Thanks for the memories Ken, and condolences to your family and friends.

        Sincere condolences to Ken's family.

I was too young to ever see Ken play sounds like I missed a good player.

As a fellow Silverwood miner, I salute your service to the Millers.

        RIP Sir.

Remember him well in the very early 60s. He sits in the pantheon of greats who competed in the first League Cup Final?

?and now all those finalists are together. Ken was the last to go.

My first match at Millmoor saw him score a hat trick against Accrington Stanley reserves in !960. I was hooked for life

I have good memories of him as well, a very strong shot as I remember. In those days an inside forward would often get the ball at his feet and run at his opponents with it. You could often hear the collective shout of the crowd 'Gooo on Ken'. I'll never forget that. RIP and thanks for the memories.
