Smith & other Owls players can walk away from the club, if 2 months wages are not paid, be it May's, then June's wages tomorrow on the 30th.
The players have to put in writing to the club, who have defaulted on wages, their intension to leave the club.
Then give a 15 day grace for the club to pay wages, if the club does not pay the wages, the players can walk away from the club.

I had no problem with smith going to Wednesday and like it?s been said he has to look after himself financially wise . Don?t want him back because I?d like to see younger players brought in .

The smirk on Judas face when he was warming up the last time we played Wednesday said everything about that Tosser. He’s a total ****er. I dont blame him going after the money but the way he did it and the attitude says it all.

Agree - would be a great asset. Being kind and understanding is hard. On departing he acknowledged the hurt it may cause many

ELK and others, a player would only walk away if they knew they could get a better offer elsewhere. Why? Under efl rules they are a preferential creditor if administration occurs which looks the likely outcome. So they will get paid eventually.

Turning to the question of Smith, Wednesday took up the option they had in his contract to extend it for 12 mths, so he is still on the big money he went there for, so unless somebody is going to pay him daft money he will be stopping there and waiting for his wages.

I remember talking to a writer at Rotherham United and apparently smith was very surprised at the reaction of our supporters. He didn?t understand the true feelings and I was told that he said ?I can?t come back can I ??

I enjoyed it when he was with us but it is a no from me

Has a preferential creditor, it could still mean only so much in each pound owed in wages, then ordinary
creditors could end up with naff all, when things are sorted out, if the club go into administration.
Had it, done it, got the t-shirt.

ELK that's true in every day life, but in football the efl will not transfer to new owners the "golden share" unless ALL FOOTBALL CREDITORS ARE PAID IN FULL so he will get his wages eventually, unless they get wound up and nobody buys them, which I very much doubt will happen

Six Owls' players have handed in their notice over unpaid wages. The manager Rohl is negotiating his release and a points deduction for next season seems inevitable. No wages paid in May and June and deadlines for many transfer related payments have passed. SWFC is heading into an abyss and there doesn't appear to be a white Knight on the horizon.

Is it possible Rachel Reeves is an Owl and her personal crisis is related to the impending Hillsborough meltdown?!

I would not rule us out, depends on what wages he wants.
