  • Sam Nombe

MISSING man Sam Nombe is poised to step up his long-awaited Rotherham United comeback with a return to full training next week.

The striker, who had found the best form of his Millers career following Matt Hamshaw's managerial appointment, has been out since the second match of the season with a torn hamstring.

Of all the injuries that have hit the club this term, the striker's has been most keenly felt as he had bagged seven goals in ten matches under the new boss. His wife is pregnant and is due to give birth over the weekend, so that's great news for him and something he's relishing.Congratulations to Sam & Wife.

I wouldn't start with Sam but if we can get twenty or thirty minutes out of him, that would be great and have him ready to start the following Saturday's match.

Sam won't be ready to play full games for a couple of weeks at least, but 30 minutes as a sub would be a boost for us.

You're probably right Brin and if he bangs a few goals in,his price should make us a lot of profit. However,as in Paul Warne's case, whenever we sold a player, PW only received from the chairman, a small fraction of that, to buy a replacement.

Nombe is the only saleable remaining asset for Stewart to cash in on before he probably moves the club on to new(allegedly American ?) ownership who presumably will build the hotel. Problem is Nombe will have to quickly prove his form and fitness before the January window to attract interest.
