Different one I think. Steve James Thompson born 1964 played for us. The one who passed was Steve Paul Thompson born 1955.Originally posted by sawmiller View PostCan I just ask - the Steve Thompson who has died age 70 and was associated with the Blades the same one who played for us for a while?

Ex-Millers player Frank Casper.
20 year old goalkeeper Charlie Casper has gone on a season-long-loan to Grimsby Town,
the Burnley FC player is the grandson of Frank Casper.
Frank Caspers son Chris Casper is currently academy manager at Burnley.
Frank Casper a Millers legend when he scored the winning goal against Sheffield Wednesday
in the league cup at Hillssborough in 1966, a night when the heavens opened, but us rain
drenched Millers supporters went home happy.
Frank Casper was sold to Burnley for a reported 30,000 pounds in 1967, where he scored on
his debut, & scored 5 goals in his first 5 games, he was leading goalscorer for his first 2
seasons at Burnley.
When he retired he became youth team coach, later caretaker manager in 1983, then becoming
manager 1989-91.
Chris Casper - defender
Played for Manchester United, AFC Bournemouth, Swindon Town & Reading.
He retired fromfootball aged 24 after suffering a double leg fracture, to which he received
compensation after the player who made the tackle on him accepted liability.
He is currently academy manager at Burnley FC.
So the Casper family have all had links with Burnley FC.
