Swans are on the cusp of signing Leo Walta from IK Sirius.
He is a 22-year-old Finnish midfielder and plays in the top tier Swedish league called the Allsvenskan, the highest ranked league in Scandinavia, winners qualify for the UEFA Champions League.
Their season runs from March to November. Last season he scored 16 goals and 3 assists in 30 appearances from midfield, with IK Sirius finishing 9th in the table
He has been described as a proper number 10 and a creator behind the forward line, rather than just a holding or ball-winning midfielder. Sounds like just what we need.

A good article from Swansea Independent website:

The news this morning of Leo Walta a player at IK Sirius in the Allsvenskan league in Sweden surfaced much to the displeasure of Swansea City FC. The Swans have done a bit of shopping around Northern Europe since Adam Worth took over as the main recruitment man at Swansea. It is a goldmine at times for clubs willing to put the work in to bring in players.

It’s countdown to Monday 7pm and the transfer window close time.
I don’t know whether other clubs are like this, but for Swans fans it’s always been a nervous time with the vultures circulating for our best players. It was a please come and get them policy from our previous U.S. owners, all available.
Why? Because we couldn’t resist the last minute cash offers. We were then left scrambling around for cheaper replacements, usually all the best players had been snapped up by then. Last window it was Idah, look how he turned out.
The ambitions, if they have any, of the new owners will be revealed in the next few days if they sell any of our top players or not - our leading scorer Vipotnik, Galbraith, Tymon, Stamenic or any others are all vulnerable.
That’s the reason why we never got promotion after our demise from the PL, we dumped 26 players then, and have continued in the same vein over the last eight seasons.
Will things change, we’ll soon find out. If not now, in the summer.

If we do sign Leo Walta he’s not going to be match fit.
The Allsvenskan runs from March to November and teams usually begin pre-season training in early to mid-January to prepare for the season start.
So its going to take a while for him to get up to speed.

Inoussa out for 3 months, same Idah. Benson has returned to Burnley. Galbraith carrying a knock. Santos not even in the squad.
Key wanted by Oxford. Yalcouye yet to show some consistency. Ronald can’t cross a ball. Other than that everything fine.

Looking at media reports the Leo Walta deal is almost done despite other clubs on hearing about it tried to hijack the deal.
This has happened to us so many times, no wonder we try to do our dealings surreptitiously (I like that word!).

Last day of the window tomorrow. Still the issue of Wales and Santos to sort out.
Hopefully no others are leaving. Will we get another striker in, another centre-back in?
It will all be revealed by 7pm tomorrow evening!

So the transfer window is now closed until the summer.
The main outcome of it was that we kept all our key players.
Regarding the incomings, we have a new right back, a number 10 and a right winger, Joel Ward, Leo Walta and Gustavo Nunes respectively.
Joel was a free agent and has a contract until the end of the season.
Leo is on loan until July 1st and then signs a permanent deal for an undisclosed amount, probably to keep within PSR Rules.
Gustavo is on loan from Brentford until the end of June.
It was noticeable that we failed to get cover for Vipotnik, with Idah out injured long term, but still let Wales go to Huddersfield on loan.
We didn’t get centre-back cover either. Santos was rumoured to be leaving but is now staying.
