Swansea v Crawley EFL Carabao Cup First Round Tue Aug 12 19:00

We were knocked out at home by League One Wycombe in the second round tie last season.
Tuesday we face another lower league side, let us hope the result is not repeated.
With four friendly defeats and a league defeat behind us already we had better pull our finger out and make an effort for this one. Trouble is we have injury problems and a top league game coming up next Saturday against Sheffield United so anyone?s guess what team we will put out. A mixture of youth and experience I suppose.
Crawley won the League Two play-off final 2-0 against Crewe at Wembley in 23-24 season to return to League One for the first time since 2015. Unfortunately they only lasted a season and are back in League Two this season.
Crawley have already played two league games, they lost 3-0 at Grimsby and 1-2 at home to Newport last Saturday so are not in the best of form, same as Swansea.

      Swansea 3 (Ronald 4’, Wales 67’, Galbraith 94’) - Crawley 1 (Tshimanga 75’)
New high profile loan signing from Brighton, midfielder Zeidane Inoussa, watched on tonight as the Swans made hard work of beating League Two Crawley. It’s been obvious since last season that we needed a striker and tonight again we missed so many chances. Vipotnik was poor, but Wales was an improvement when he came on and scored the second goal.
Swans 21 shots 8 on target.

Middlesbrough went down 0-4 to League One newcomers Doncaster Rovers in tonight’s shock result. Rovers, despite changing their whole starting eleven put four past a stunned Boro who had made only five changes from the team that beat Swansea a few days ago.

Well boys after the non show at Middlesbrough we put on a feast of attacking football.
Shame we didn’t have a decent striker though. Vipotnik looked lost, Wales looked better when he came on.
One sided through most of the match their keeper made some great saves. Gave away a sloppy goal though which made things harder.
Winning matches breeds confidence and sets us up nicely for Saturday.
