    Swansea v Charlton Sat 2 May 12:30
This is it, the final match of the season, and it?s at home to the Addicks.
Another season that ends with nothing to play for but pride.
Mind you, we are lucky Matos took over when he did otherwise Sheehan could very well have taken us down the way the results were going.
The reverse fixture last November was a 1-1 draw with Idah scoring the equaliser after Charlton had gone ahead at the start of the second-half.
    The team that day:
Swans: Vigouroux, Key, Cabango (c), Eom (Widell 65), Tymon, Burgess, Franco (Fulton 87), Casey, Galbraith, Idah, Ronald (Inoussa 65)
Subs not used: Fisher, Samuels-Smith, Cullen, Benson, Santos, Wales
Not too dissimilar a team to what we currently play.
The team have a week to recover after the long distance travel of last week away at QPR and Norwich.
One more push to finish as high as we can in the table, come on you Swans!

We could finish as high as 10th or as low as 13th depending on results this Saturday
I am expecting Key to fill the right-back role.
What is all this about Galbraith and his derisory contract upgrade offer?
They say he’s upset, closed his social media account and wants a transfer.
We can’t sell all our best players every season. We have done it for eight years since relegation and where has it got us - nowhere, just treading water.
What with rumours of Stamenic and Vipotnik going as well it makes you wonder if these new owners are just as unambitious as the last lot.

        Swansea 3 (Idah 75’, 82’, Walta 88’) - Charlton 1 (Leaburn 79’)
First-half best forgotten as hardly anything of note happened. Charlton high-pressed us and we could find no way through their tight back five.
Second-half we were much better but it wasn’t until the subs came on that we scored.
It was a Key assist with his pass for sub Idah to score. The lead was short lived however as within a few minutes sub Leaburn equalised with a free header from a corner.
Another sub, Thomas Woodward, making his Swans debut laid on the pass for Idah to score his second.
To cap it off Walta scored from a free kick, an unstoppable ball to the top right hand corner, the goalie didn’t even move.
We just missed out on 10th place through goal difference to Birmingham, both teams on 64 points.

A comfortable win in the end to close the season then. It was hard fought and you are right, the subs came to the rescue, sub Idah with two goals and the third from sub Walta. Also impressed with sub Woodward from the Academy.
Strange referee, not one yellow card but fouls galore.
That is it until next season then, with many questions unanswered about the playing squad.
For football nuts we still have the play-offs to sate our appetite and the PL is still ongoing.

Enjoyed that second-half, where we finally cracked their tough defence.
I have high expectations for next season with Idah coming good, Walta as well.
Young Woodward, Watts, Lissah, Wilson from the Academy, plus a few additions too, and to keep our best players.
Not too much to ask is it? Let us see how the summer unfolds.

I see some Charlton fans criticising their team after yesterday. I’m surprised, I thought they played well, high press, tough to break down and quick on the counter. They beat Hull the week before, a team that are now in the play-offs.

I saw Widell with a leg brace and crutches at the end, hope it is not too serious and just a precautionary measure.
