  • Summer Transfer Window

With Galbraith and Vipotnik’s future up in the air, two of our best players, it’s that time of year where we usually sell our best players and start all over - again.
Every season it’s the same, it’s like Groundhog Day.
For me, we’ll never get anywhere and will just tread water at best if our stand out players leave each season.
Anyway we wait with bated breath to see what unfolds this summer.

Well boys a bit early for transfer news but our search for a DoF goes on:

Mikael Dorsin, a former player and Director of Football with Norwegian club Rosenborg BK has been linked with Swansea.
He was praised for his long-term planning there, modernising the club's recruitment strategy and was a big financial success. He helped develop and sell young talent, with a significant amount of revenue coming from the academy. On the field of play a lack of silverware marred his five year tenure there. He left at the end of 2025 after turning down a new contract.

This search follows the surprising departure of Head of Recruitment Adam Worth.
Richard Montague was previously in the role with a brief seven-month stint. He returned to Notts County FC as their Director of Football last October.

Rumours going around that Galbraith has turned down a second offer of a contract extension, sounds as if there’s interest from other clubs with an extension bumping up the price.

Galbraith, plucked from League One obscurity only last summer has got too big for his boots already.
He still has two years to run on his existing contract with the club holding an option to extend his stay by a further 12 months.
Swansea were keen to reward the midfielder with an improved, longer-term deal, but I agree, it looks as if he’s been tapped up as he’s turned down a second improved offer.

It seems a long way away to 15 June transfer window opening, 18 days and counting.
I wonder what’s ahead, disappointment at our best players leaving and rebuild again as usual or excitement with new signings.
There’s still no Director of Football been appointed, so Gorringe is doing it all, very unprofessional.

Is he coming in as back-up or will he be ousting one of Burgess or Cabango?
Apparently, although right-footed, he can play left or right centre-back position.
Whatever, our defence needed strengthening, let’s hope it works out

Still no DoF, must be someone lined up, hopefully announced before the window opens on Monday, but don’t hold your breath.

Let’s hope Stephen Welsh is just what we need.
Looks as if we’ll lose Galbraith, we do not keep unhappy players. He’s turned down a second improved contract extension offer.
He hasn’t been here 12 months yet and was desperate to come here then. Situation probably agent driven.
Shame to lose such a good player, but no player can hold our club to ransom.

Hi guys. Well the day is finally here, the transfer window opens.
Unfortunately all we hear is which club is going to steal our best players, Southampton, Birmingham, Wrexham, West Ham etc.
We will never get promotion this way and it is disheartening for fans, who stay away in droves as a result.
This is the way it has been since relegation from the PL. Look at other successful clubs, our best ex-players now play for them.
We have new owners, successful businessmen with supposedly big ambitions but nothing has changed, we are still selling just to survive.

…. and that Cardiff rag wales on line printed in Bristol and pay to view, keeps on about Galbraith leaving us every day. So annoying to put it mildly.
