That?s what you get with constant back passes back to the keeper a very poor goal conceded

Now Dike on (for Campbell?). That'll do it.

87 mins not one shot on target, the Ipswich keeper could have brought a deck chair, newspaper and a flask of coffee, we are useless up front

All that last minute urgency woke me up Al and Mikey even put the ball in the net!

Yet another match that we should have got something out of regardless of lack of squad depth and Molumby and Collyer being unavailable in midfield for example 😞

Ryan Mason went on about the number of changes to the squad in the summer and the team continuing to "grow" in his pre match interview but it's increasingly sounding like deflection from the core issue which is not enough attacking intent and being too slow in getting the ball forward. We lose way too many points and games in the dying minutes of matches.

Again, there was little to commend in today?s performance. What is the point in defending for the majority of the game and then to give away a completely needless goal. As the game approached the conclusion I was convinced in my own mind that we would concede. I was correct. At this moment in time we do not appear to be able to do anything right.

To be honest, we look like a side completely lacking in confidence and lacking the ability to impose themselves on the opposition. Worrying times!

Nice away apart from the football?

I await with interest the managers assessment of the game whenever that becomes available

Agreed, far too defensive and it just invites pressure and then the inevitable happens.

To be fair, some of our attacking players (Mikey especially) do show intent going forward but the back four's default is too often to pass the ball sideways and backwards rather than move it forward quickly enough. In the first half against Watford we could do this in relative safety but in the second half of that game and for most of today's the opposition kept pressing and we were either pushed right back or else lost possession and then gave ourselves too much needless defending to do.

Many teams sit quite deep with a low block which we find frustratingly difficult to break through but when they break, they also move a lot faster than we tend to and in numbers. It seems a lesson we are too slow in learning.

"Disappointed and angry" apparently. Join the club Ryan!

He clearly had a game plan (not that I think any on here believe in it-or that possibly even the players themselves do) and is probably right to a degree when he says that he felt players didn't have enough "belief" that they could win. Don't know how he can claim that we "grew into the game in the second half" though. From where I was sitting, we only seemed to start to show any real intent in the last 10 mins or so!

Trying to play out from the back all the time doesn't work at this level and being more reliant on trying to defend well for 90 mins rather than attacking never works. Yes, Griffiths made the mistake for the goal but, yet again, we were the architect of our own defeat.

As Coventry are discovering, winning can become a habit-but so can losing.
