You can?t say everyone an idiot FFS and a lot of comments on there. Son texted leaving the match and said general mood was not good as again although better it was poor football yet again devoid of quality!

I was working so missed the game. By all accounts we were a bit better than we have been (hardly difficult!) and on the balance of play didn't deserve to lose (through yet another late conceded goal FFS). On the other hand, seems we still lacked creativity and were poor in the final third again. I also see that Mason selected Grant to start ahead of Johnston (who has been the one player who has shown pretty consistent attacking intent in recent games) and also started Heggebo, only bringing Maja on with 10 mins to go. 13 shots but only one on target. Our main problem remains our lack of goals so why not at least start Johnston and bring on Maja-or Dike-a lot earlier and, perhaps, even give Bostock a chance? Meanwhile, Blues put 4 past Millwall so really looking forward to playing them and Coventry (not!)

In his post match interview, Mason acknowledged that it is his responsibility to turn things around but that he was not "giving enough to the players" to achieve this yet. Unfortunately, actions speak louder than words. Matt and a few others say that there were signs of improvement last night but I still don't get the team selection. What is clear, is that we need to find a way of scoring goals pretty sharpish or else we are in danger of doing a Norwich.

Bit better but total lack of quality against a poor side with injuries. There were a mixture of boos at the match so I?m told and many weren?t pleased - again! At least they were near Sir David?s birthplace 😂😂

Tough match coming up in our position so let?s hope our Ryan does a little bit of target practice!

The radio commentary gave the impression that the remaining fans congratulated the team after the final whistle.

Son said half clapped and half booed Stargazer. I wouldn?t have booed personally after that one but if those who pay good money are entitled to do whatever they want as long as it?s not abusive and not within play.

There was some booing but it was nowhere near half and half.

The majority of those remaining who were stood by us clapped the team off. I wouldn't class a very late 1-0 defeat as a cause for congratulations mind 😁 .

Whilst not an outstanding performance it was a big improvement on much of what's been served up of late. Clearly room for further improvement but Price had two very presentable chances and SIJ really should have slotted one as well.

As for the late goal and deflection the shot should never even have come in. Johnston's attempt at closing their goal scorer down was so light weight it was barely power puff.

Nice to hear that there was at least some improvement 68 but sounds like both our final decision making and finishing leave much to be desired.

As for our attacking line up, Heggebo generally holds the ball up well and is strong but whilst it is true that he doesn't get much service, he isn't the natural goal scorer we'd hoped for. I'd personally much prefer that he was at least played alongside either Maja or Dike but don't know whether their reduced game time is down to Mason being overly cautious with them following their injuries?

Price has ability but has been generally ineffective lately and sounds like he really should have converted those chances at Charlton so maybe time to rest him. I still believe Mikey needs to start but we lack width on the other wing and I'd be tempted to play him on one side and play Grant on the other ahead of Illing Junior who seems to fade too quickly.

In any event, it will be interesting to see Mason's starting selection on Saturday and whether this new found improvement continues. Hopefully we may even put the ball in the net which might inspire a bit of confidence after a run of so many poor and frustrating games.

Overall, we do lack creativity but our major problem is the failure to put the ball into the back of the net. In every game we do get chances but fail to convert them. This obviously means that our defence is under extreme pressure not to concede and when we do it so often ends up with a defeat. I know this may sound very obvious but we are not going to win games until we consistently score goals, and there lies the problem!

I agree but also our style of football is boring, predictable, slow and dull so not just about goals. Coventry are top for a reason and yes it?s not just the three times the goals they have scored compared to us but their football is fast, on the front foot and a joy to watch, Supporters want to be entertained.

What do you suspect most supporters want, an entertaining side or a boring side that is successful? I am not sure what the majority would opt for. Ideally, one that is entertaining and successful, obviously. To my mind, a side that is more entertaining is more likely to be successful but, as the saying goes, you have to cut your suit according to your cloth. In all honesty I am not sure that our poor run of form is down to Masons tactics or our lack of quality.

I agree apart from the last bit. 100% it?s down to Mason who tinkers with the starting line up constantly with poor use of subs and the lack of intent to win a game. Johnston has been our best player but he was subbed. Maja, Dike or Haribo don?t know whether they are coming or going and forget the great youngsters we have!
Arsenal can play a 15 year old in the Champions League but he can?t give Bostock ago! Really do we honestly think Wallace or Junior are much better?

Poor performance on Saturday then boos will echo all around the ground. Not a brilliant squad but a good one and a decent manager would get so much more out of them in my opinion.

You watch the crowds start to drop! Even son who spent around ?150 going to Charlton wonders why he bothered! Bad enough watching it on the sofa with the sideways passing!

Johnston wasn't subbed, he didn't even start. Came on for Price 😉 .

That?s what I meant as in subbed - not starting! Not got dementia yet - honest 😡
