  • King Midas in Reverse.

This ought to be our theme song at this moment in time. No, we have not been playing that well but in all honesty in the majority of games we have been no worse than the opposition and on quite a few occasions have actually been the better side. However, as in sport in general, you get periods when little goes your way. We appear to be in one of those situations.

I am not saying that all our results have been down to bad luck as tactics, player selection and performance are of a concern. Having said this, we do need that bit of luck that could turn a game in our direction and it is te hoped that this will occur soon as we are slipping down the table at an alarming rate.

Charlton play the numbers game and get the ball in and around the box at all opportunities. It’s a little like Ismaels Barnsley and it works. They are a poor team but will sneak the odd goal from a deflection, scramble in the box etc.

We were unlucky based on the performance yesterday and if Price didn’t have a stinker, we would have won that.

We do need some luck but we need to be a bit more streetwise and create it to. We are a tall side so why cant we punt the ball in the box a bit more?

Let's see what happens when Dike is fit to start. I'm fed up of seeing opposing central defenders having it comfortable in most games. We need real physicality in their box to force mistakes, and we may even get a penalty every now and then.

Remember set pieces Linden when we had McCauly and Dawson - they won so many duals!

And it appears we have a RB with a similar long throw as Furlong.
