  • Mason?s Moments no 1

Will now be counting the number of times Mason says moments in his pre and post match comments, it seems it?s his favourite word

Quoted form the E & S Mason says this after the Charlton defeat:

"Of course , maybe later in the week, we'll speak to the players, we'll re-inforce certain things and try to give them more and make them make us try to understand that in certain moments we need to be better...."

What are these moments?, the players clearly don?t know or understand what the hell he is talking about

I know what he means and perhaps he means 'chances' but he does use moments a lot

"Sometimes in tight games you need moments of brilliance and we had two moments today."

In the second half, they had their best spell, were on the front foot, and for us it was about trying to get through that moment.

We lacked a bit of creativity in the final third. In the second half, we had a 10-minute spell, where it was our moment to attack them and try and cause them some problems,

The first half for 25 minutes, I thought we played a really good game. We had loads of final third entries, loads of moments.

"Every game in this league is demanding and challenging - we had so many moments that didn't materialise and we need to improve on that."

It's a disappointing result and it's not good enough. I could speak all day long about the performance and positives, the moments we created,

The one thing I will say is they are giving me everything and they are putting everything into it but it's not enough at the moment. It's another one that we shouldn't have lost but have done and the feeling inside the dressing room is there is a lot of anger.
"I'm fine. It's football and I know what it takes. I am in this position and I can handle it but for whatever reason at the moment the results aren't good and it is my responsibility to fix."

Gets yours for Xmas a bag of sugar coated Mason?s Moments

WE don't need moments we need a plan and a team that plays for 100 minutes.

Yet to see a plan unless it's sideways back and hang on to 0-0.

The moment we need is Mason having a total rethink - front foot , press. belief in giving youth a chance.

That won't happen- the next best moment is him going

I daresay his next post match interview could very well be be like this

"We had some key moments, the goal was a moment we planned for, a moment of quality. Overall, the moments went our way. Now we look to next week's moments."

Could there be more Magic Moments next time out?

"We played a really good first half, created some excellent moments, showed good personality and quality as well, and scored two really good goals.

Pity Mason didn?t have a couple of ?moments? when Molumby was sent off, to slow to react and taking Johnston off was ridiculous, we?re sleepwalking into league 1

To be honest - I wish Mason would just do one! Incredibly naive not subbing a petulant hot head when it was getting nasty! Collyer is a better player than hot head anyway!

                        More moments. .,,,,

Blues are a good side and teams have spells and they have moments. It?s about getting through those ten-minute periods. If we score the second, it?s a completely different game.

?We had moments and opportunities but we didn?t make them count and ultimately we?ve been punished once again for not making the most of the situations we had.

I am not crazy about his in game management at times, but I think we are improving and the lads are clearly playing for him.

We need more confidence in the final areas. We had several really good chances yesterday that would have wrapped up the game. Price particularly is a smashing player but I dont think he is finishing well and is probably not a number 10.

I am a bit more confident it will come together and we are not stale. A couple of quality additions to this squad and we might be a force next season.

I also thought the players seemed to be committed, but just not good enough to convert the chances.
I was disappointed to see the delay in substitutions-I think it was Diakite standing ready to come on for quite a while.
I was expecting to see Mikey being subbed (would have avoided his foolish foul which resulted in their goal) but I expect Mason was nervous to take him off given the understandable flack he received for subbing him vs Coventry.
I’m afraid Mason is not strong.
As an aside, returning to the Mulumby incident, surely Mozza would have advised Mason to take him off after the yellow card ?
                              MUST win vs Swansea
