  • Highlights V Oxford.

    Griffths did well again.
Substitute Aune Heggebo's winner ensured West Brom ended their recent poor run as they came from behind to beat Oxford 2-1 at The Hawthorns.

Delighted for Heggebo. I consider he always puts a decent shift in and that contributes to what he maybe lacks in skill. Maja’s form has deteriorated and Heggo would now be my 1st choice striker.

Personally I would play two strikers especially with a team like Oxford! Not pressing for the third could have cost us today yet again!

Need quality in the middle to service the striker/s. Mowatt too slow as seen when outpaced for their goal, and Diakite and Molumbey lack talent and creativity. Thought Collyer made some good touches when he came on.

Great to get three points but feels it?s masking over the hiding we will get at Coventry who are on fire!

I agree, he always puts a shift in. He?s only played a handful of games in this league and although his goals per game ratio is not great so far , I feel there is something there. He?s played some lovely lay offs and the step over at Watford ( I think) seemed to go unnoticed but led to a goal. I really hope it works out for him as he comes across to me as a genuine, likeable player.

I've thought for a while that Heggebo should be played alongside Maja, but agree that the latter has been off the pace lately. Given this, maybe time to play Dike alongside Heggebo? I only managed to listen to the match today but apparently fans at the game were also calling for Dike to get his chance. Given his recovery programme he might be unlikely to get 90 mins but think he may be worth a go- and he has hardly had the opportunity so far to prove himself.

As you say, Heggebo may not be a natural goal scorer (though his headed winner today was excellent) but his strength and hold up play is good. I would play him with maybe Price behind him and then switch Price for Dike later on depending on performance.

Decent call Omeg buddy. Certainly I now consider that Dike is now our second choice striker.
We were very ineffective with our attacking corners. Maybe Dike together with Heggo would improve matters ? Or maybe an occasional return to the pass to a player short/outside the box ? A training ground issue to be honed.
