Mason settled for a draw with those sh1te subs. On reflection Mason as done it for us again, he has to be gone, 10 straight away defeats for the first time in 99 years and he has overseen this calamitous run

Sucker-punched!😞
Tbf, a good goal but -as the commentator says-it's not about how well you perform or what you deserve, it's about winning. We deserved to take 3 points from this game and may well have done had it not been for their GK.
They put a shift in tonight and played some decent football at times so can understand how gutting it is for Mason and the players. It is certainly true that we were far too pedestrian at the start of the game but ended up dominating most of the match and honestly don't think we can put this one down to lack of spirit, glaring defensive errors or missed clear cut chances.

Up to the first Leicester goal on 18 minutes, Leicester were outplaying us, and although the goal was their first attempt on goal, you couldn't begrudge them the lead. After that it was pretty much all Albion. We had 8 shots on goal, a couple of goal line clearances, smacked one off the post. We were the better side by far and had we scored the last minute winner i don't think Leicester would have begrudged us the win too much. That was just cruel.

I wouldn't have taken Heggabo off (and if Maja was to come on, it should have been for Price) and I don't think that Illing Junior was ever going to add anything either but bringing on Diakite for Mowatt looked forced on him because of that foul by Choudhury. That said, I don't think the subs were made because Mason was happy to settle for a draw and the players themselves didn't seem to react that way. In fact, it may have been still continuing to go after the winning goal in the closing minutes rather than concentrating on not conceding that helped Leicester break and get the winner themselves.Originally posted by phild View PostMason settled for a draw with those sh1te subs. The present run of defeats is not acceptable and I've been increasingly in the camp that believes Mason is not capable of turning things around and needs replacing myself but just think that tonight's loss was for different reasons Phil.
The majority of our defeats have been down to a mixture of clear defensive mistakes, clear chances missed, lacklustre and disjointed performances and Mason's own starting selections, subs and tactical decisions. Tonight, I thought he got the starting eleven right and whilst we were far too pedestrian at the start of the game, we grew into it and showed attacking intent and even played some nice football at times so that we ended dominating much of the match. I don't think their goals were down to glaring defensive errors and whilst we could still be more clinical, their GK did well and I don't think we missed any clear cut chances. One of our better performances despite the loss. Doesn't change my mind on Mason but just my view.

The clue in your post is - tonight he got the starting line up right! Get rid!Originally posted by Omegstrat6 View PostI wouldn't have taken Heggabo off (and if Maja was to come on, it should have been for Price) and I don't think that Illing Junior was ever going to add anything either but bringing on Diakite for Mowatt looked forced on him because of that foul by Choudhury. When are we going to get a break? I went to the game and sat with mates in the Leicester end. To a man they were hoping that they could hold on for the draw. They also admitted that the better side lost.
It is no use to complain that the substitutions made the difference, they didn’t! It is just the way things are going for us this season. When that goal went in our players just sank to the floor and I do not blame them. Sickening! Their confidence must be at an all time low. I have criticised Mason this season but not tonight. At some time we must get a break and win a game the we did not deserve to.

Based on tonight's game alone, I would totally agree with you Leics. but if you look at our other defeats, regardless of any of our performances being "deserving" of a win and not taking into account poor refereeing decisions or injuries, we have lost due to our own failings, whether that be stupid defensive errors, failing to put away clear cut chances or the wrong starting selection, subs or tactics. I believe that there is an element of truth in the saying that you "make your own luck". Tonight, I feel genuinely sorry for Mason and the players but too often we are the cause of our own problems.Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostWhen are we going to get a break? One of the most saddest and irritating aspects of this season so far is that we have been beaten by some of the most appalling football teams I have ever seen. If Patel and co are still going to give Mason time then he needs help, get rid of Abella, Morrison and Gibbs and employ Roy Hodgson or even Warnock on a temporary basis to help, Middlesbrough did it with Robson when they got Venebles in

It?s all our fault we keep giving stupid goals away , you can?t fault the shot for the winner great strike !!! But he was on his own 16 yards out in the box , the first goal grant lost his man no tracking back ball watching terrible defending, saying this I feel gutted for everyone involved in WBA because we played pretty decent last night,Originally posted by Omegstrat6 View PostBased on tonight's game alone, I would totally agree with you Leics. but if you look at our other defeats, regardless of any of our performances being "deserving" of a win and not taking into account poor refereeing decisions or injuries, we have lost due to our own failings, whether that be stupid defensive errors, failing to put away clear cut chances or the wrong starting selection, subs or tactics.
