  • Pull the Trigger Shilen

Needs to pull the trigger. Yes we played great against a struggling Leicester. But for once this idiot played the team he should have consistently played in the past weeks.

Why make those subs when Leicester were on the rack? Heggebo was doing everything up front and those three players who came on weakened the team and upset the tempo.

Hard luck stories do not win games and it?s bad decisions that have cost us.

Well done lads but Mason must be gone!

I thought they were on the rack before and after the subs.

He has got to use the bench. Its just unfortunate that the bench we have is sh*t.

If you sack him the bench is still sh*t. We bossed that game start to finish and the performance was superb. You cant fault the manager for that.

Agree with all the but not the subs especially with no league game at the weekend. After the subs they started to regain possession. Junior is a poor player but hey no doubt he will start v Swansea over Bostock,

      My view

Both subs Diakite and Junior stood and watched the second goal, Mason again disrupted the momentum with his subs, clueless, one decent performance doesn?t save him, get rid

What do you want him to do? Not make subs? Isnt that the criticism he has had in other weeks?

          The bloke cant win (literally)

There isnt a manager in world football that doesnt make subs. Its not his fault Diakhite, iling Junior and Maja are crap.

If we play like that every week, we will be absolutely fine. We need a few new players.

Why make the subs then with no league game coming up? Senseless and a few at the match said the same as my son and mates there.

So different views which is fine!

We were doing fine up to the subs, Price was livid at been taken off, Heggebo was doing ok, fair play Mowatt was crocked, for me Taylor should have come on and Styles into midfield after all he?s an international, Mason?s inexperience is costing us big style

Heggebo was huge up front in terms of work rate so don?t get why idiot takes him off. Not even a league game albeit a relegation one now at the weekend. It gave Leicester belief again,

Regardless 10 straight defeats. Got to go!

Mowatt being subbed was out of Mason's hands as he was injured but Diakite, although improved, is not great so I concede that Bomber's preference to bring on Taylor at LB and move Styles into midfield may have been a better option.

As for taking Heggabo off, like yourself and many others, I saw no reason for that at all as he continued to work hard, held the ball up well and made some smart passes. If Maja was to come on, it should have been for Price who, although better than he has been, is still nowhere near his best. Having made his decision, however, I still would not have brought Junior on for Price because I cannot see how much more he can offer and the more subs you make, the greater the disruption of any momentum built.

None of our subs were an improvement on those taken off (if they were, they should have started!) and I would have preferred that the only one made was the one for the injured Mowatt but, that said, I'm still not sure that not making the substitutions would have altered the end result.

A far more spirited performance but, ultimately, it is results that count.

Results do count Omeg and the league table is damning on Mason.

However you ask a manager to set us up to win by having plenty of chances and constrict the amount the opposition has. The rest is down to the players, their decisions and luck.

Whether we agree on the in game management or not, he did his job and we should have won. This is the same old story for us and it comes to down to the players we have available. There is nothing I can see that proves a new manager gets different results. The players will still make the decisions they make and even if you set them up well, they probably wont score any more. The bench will still be used and will probably make the game worse.

ItÂ’s too easy to sack and move on. A braver decision would be to back him with a few decent players and have faith that eventually results will match performances.

I have been just as critical of Mason as so many others have been, but not last night. Yes, you do make your own luck but it seems to me that at this moment in time, absolutely nothing is going our way.

To my mind the side selected was the best available to him and if there is any justice we would have left with three thoroughly deserved points. I don’t mind repeating myself in saying that surely we cannot continue having little going our way but will say that Mason must stick basically to last nights side, barring injuries of course. If he does, then, despite all my criticism of him, we can turn the season around.

Mason was previously criticised for not making changes when our setup wasn't working, making the wrong changes (2 full backs when we needed a goal) or making changes too late. (Dike with 3 mins to go)

Last night we were all over Leicester. The changes he made meant we lost momentum and Leicester got back into it.

I don't know if he's just out of his depth or does he overthink things?

Out of his depth! He at least played the best starting line up last night so his brain engaged but why the subs and no league game at the weekend? My son was at Leicester and he said there were a few groans when the subs were made as many knew momentum would be lost - happened loads of times. He?s had a few decent players and a highly rated Collyer was one but he was in and out like a yo yo!

I agree here. It's always easy to sack a manager/coach, as the scapegoat. I am presently not a fan of Mason but nothing will change by sacking him. The squad will still be the same mediocre squad. Players have a responsibility too, in all this. Our players haven't shown an individual leadership on the pitch or any real motivation for that matter. If we are destined for relegation then so be it.
Changing managers has become the false "silver bullet" to improving everything.
                            It isn't.

Could not agree more Matt and Dubbs. Following the trend of sacking every few months needs to be broken. The need to look outside the box, take in the bigger picture and discard the want of instant success and do something different is the way forward.

Man Utd stuck with Ferguson for ages when there were calls for him to go from the short sighted. Look what he did for them, not that Mason or West Brom could actually achieve such greatness.

We need to see this through. What is the alternative, get a new person in and sack again at the end of May when things did not work out and go around again.

It?s hard I understand, but that is what supporting your club is about. Supporting through the bad times is more important than supporting through the good times. The empty seats shows where the not so real supporters sit.
