I think Mason has had some really bad luck, nothing has gone his or our way. Jinxed!?

Paper thin squad, many players under performing, injuries, horrible ref decisions, loads of goals conceded in the dying minutes of the game etc, etc.

But, too many of his decisions have been too erratic, inexplicable, counterproductive etc to let him stay on. Eg, Wildsmith instead of Griffiths for 7-8 games, forwards brought on with 2-3 minutes to play when we are chasing goals, players played out of natural and best position, players on the bench who should be in the starting XI etc, etc.

So, hopefully we can turn things around with a new head coach, but, the way things have gone (against us), it has of course had a detrimental impact on confidence, mentality etc of the players.

Maybe the ‘head coach’ model is partly to blame for this, I suspect that it leaves Nestor with too much influence over team matters. I would now like to see a good manager appointed.

Brighton and Brentford have head coaches. In fact they turn over managers and it doesn't seem to make much difference because their recruitment model is so good.

If we have a good sporting director who recruits to the formation / tactics / method that the club is aiming for then it shouldn't matter too much who the manager is as long as they are semi competent.

One big mistake we've made in the past is let managers buy players. Ismael did it, and so did Bruce.

We need an excellent recruitment team, that is the most important position in the club - not the manager in my view.

I agree. Recruitment Director should be a new post and the more important issue in the club

There are plenty of successful clubs with 'Managers' and there are plenty successful clubs with 'Head Coaches.'

Either way can work or fail. As with most things in life the who matters more than the how.
