In all honesty, never in my wildest dreams did I expect us to lie 18th in the Championship at this stage of the season. I fully expected us to be in, or pushing for a place in the play offs. We now have to accept that we are in a relegation battle and if performances do not improve there is every possibility that we could go down. I have to admit that I will be devastated if this comes to fruition as I am sure that the rest of you must feel the same way.

I said early on we may very well be in a relegation scrap. That prediction of mine is proving to be more accurate then my weekly predictions.Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostIn all honesty, never in my wildest dreams did I expect us to lie 18th in the Championship at this stage of the season. I don't think Ramsey would have come in unless there were assurances in place to strengthen the squad. Despite public announcements of limited funds being available this window, the fact remains that there must be changes. Nearly two weeks to have a good look at the squad for Ramsey, which could mean a busy deadline day.Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostIn all honesty, never in my wildest dreams did I expect us to lie 18th in the Championship at this stage of the season. I don?t think our players and squad are good enough to be anywhere else at the moment tbh.
Maybe we have players who can match players from other teams when it comes to name, experience, strength, speed, technical abilities etc, etc.
But, to make a good player you also need mental strength, the right mentality, grit, fighting spirit, desire etc, etc. And, all in all, too many of our players lack that immensely - and therefore they are inferior to the players of Hull, Millwall etc.
Why, I don?t know, some of them maybe too (old and) complacent, and not hungry enough any more, and some of them may lack it from the start (Iling-Junior?).
You can see that also in many individual sports, two athletes with similar physical attributes and strengths, and the mentally stronger wins, part of the whole package.
We, constantly and repeatedly, fold?

With Norwich getting a great win today - go a goal down to them in midweek and we could be in trouble. Worrying that we are four points off relegation and a few of the sides below us have games in hand. Could we go down? Absolutely we could!
Patel needs to get his hands in his pockets for new players and firstly I would not let Nestor anywhere near the recruitment. Not having a dig at Ramsay but clearly he was the cheap option. Any clues in the word CHEAP?

He would need to shift some out before he can bring any more in at the same level.

Well then that is what he has to do..I don?t mean any MLS players thank you..inferior league in every way..no jeopardy of relegation as I?m sure Eric is well aware of after today?s results..must win TuesdayOriginally posted by stargazer_1962 View PostPatel would love to put his hands in his pockets but is hampered by the rules.

That?s the problem Stargazer and who can be shifted. Nobody I feel would want to pay the wages for Wallace, Dike and Maja. Who would want Wildsmith! I bet Villa won?t recall Junior! On paper we could get better than Grant and Griffiths but realistically would we - can?t see us getting much for these two versus what it would cost to replace them.Originally posted by stargazer_1962 View PostPatel would love to put his hands in his pockets but is hampered by the rules.

For me again I would employ somebody really good in recruitment and develop the youngsters. Bostock, Williams and Whitwell would do well and their stock would hugely rise ( like Fellows ) if they played well in minutes given. Bostock after his performance against Swansea should have come on v Boro rather than unfit porkers like Maja and Dike.

Almost unbelievable that Bostock wasn?t used after his display in the Cup. Poor start for Ramsey with his team selection, should have done better. I believe, though, the problem is Nestor, he is, I understand, the one behind all the recruitment and sales and his record doesn?t look good. I doubt that he?ll sack himself, though. I hope Ramsay turns things around but I am not hopeful, the cheap option isn?t usually the correct one.

Well, the relegation fight is now on. I really didn’t expect to be studying those teams below us and their opponents in forthcoming matches…I’ve been looking at those clubs above us !
However, I do believe we will avoid the drop, but I hope by more than hair’s breadth !
Time also to pull out my blood pressure monitor for regular updates.

Ketts, I said months ago re Nestor, that he is the problem with his plan. The plan is just too restrictive, it is not allowing coaches to be coaches, to be more flexible in their approach. We are going through coaches at a rate of knots because he is, I?m sure pulling strings. We are on our third coach in twelve months. That is stupid.Originally posted by kettering_baggie View PostAlmost unbelievable that Bostock wasn?t used after his display in the Cup. Ryan Mason has gone. He will show up at another club and show how good he actually is.
As Prando say we are in the mix for relegation. Tuesday verses Norwich is now an absolute must win. Lose and we are in the really well and truly in the mire.
I had not planned to go Tuesday due to business commitments but I think I might make some rearrangements in order to attend and lend some support to the players. God only knows, it is needed right now.
