Which player would you sacrifice for funds in this window, my choice would be be Price, obviously a superb player that is not playing to his full potential at West Brom, I think he is wasting his talents here, Mason before Ramsey had no idea where to play him

Maja, Dike, cancel Ailing’s loan…….
We should not, though, sell any of our best players; I have said before, selling Palmer Heggem, Fellows, Taylor and Furlong was wrong. So we were at risk of breaching PSR rules, there is usually more than one way of solving a problem, was there no other way, really? Anyway, so what if we broke those rules, with those players we would probably be close to the promotion places and a points deduction, say 15, would put us where? Where we are now but with a much better team. That’s my take on it, I may be in a minority of one with that but I reckon we would have been far better off.

Price and Griffiths. Sadly I do not think any of the others have much value. For example you would have to contribute at least 50% of the huge wages of Dike, Wallace and Maja to entice any club to take them on.Originally posted by Bombers right foot View PostWhich player would you sacrifice for funds in this window, my choice would be be Price, obviously a superb player that is not playing to his full potential at West Brom, I think he is wasting his talents here, Mason before Ramsey had no idea where to play him

We have never been able to effectively replace the likes of Palmer, Heggem or Fellows but I still believe that the financial pressures on the club made their sales almost inevitable. That situation has changed however and will improve considerably in the coming summer window so I am in complete agreement with Ketts that we must hang on to our best players and have no need to sell. We may not recoup any money for Wallace, Maja, Grant, Diakite and Wildsmith but they will be off the wage bill come the end of the season (if none are retained).
We need to look ahead to a rebuild so I believe we should hold on to both our better established players and young talent like to Bostock or Whitwell. If we could shift some of those out contract come June that would be good but I doubt we would have any takers and it would, of course, further deplete an already thin squad with no guarantee of obtaining better replacements in the January window.

Bostock, Williams and Whitwell if they had any sense - they would be off! Why stay at West Brom when you do not get minutes under a bunch of clowns 🤡 ?Originally posted by Omegstrat6 View PostWe have never been able to effectively replace the likes of Palmer, Heggem or Fellows but I still believe that the financial pressures on the club made their sales almost inevitable. Bostock was excellent against Swansea so what does he need to do to get minutes in front of an ageing nag ( Wallace ) and a s hit loan player ( Junior ) who has difficulty in foot control of the ball ?

Totally agree Matt. The midfield should be the engine and can not say anyone of them are decent, Slow with no talent and creativity, Barnsley supporters said Styles was not great in midfield and too small in the full back position - I would agree with this! Mowatt too slow and sideways football and JM lacks creativity and blows hot and cold! Sad there was no replacement for Collyer and we have signed a second string keeper FFS!Originally posted by baggiematt View PostIling Junior has been so underwhelming this season. But he has looked good on left wing back. Playing him right wing was an appalling decision.
Diakhite for me. He just isnt good enough in an already poor midfield.

There isn't really any stand out alone player in the squad to be honest..
I'm not sure that there would be too many clubs interested in what we have.
We already sold off the decent players that we had. The whole squad needs a root and branch job done on it.

I agree. Maybe the high wage earners need to be considered if financial needs be.Originally posted by Dubbag View PostThere isn't really any stand out alone player in the squad to be honest..

But since moving to left wing back in my opinion our best player in the last 2 games , after saying that not much to compete with .
