After the -admittedly little - I'd seen of our pre-season games, me too Boingy! Defensively much better and although final third lacking in quality a bit, some good link up play and nice to see some attacking intent. Deserve to be ahead at H/T though one goal is never enough and think Blackburn will give us far more of a challenge second half.

Silly really, as the ref gave players their chances first half to work their "over enthusiasms" out and clearly wasn't going to let some of those niggly challenges or frustrations (mostly by Blackburn tbf) continue second half. Let's hope we don't rue them.

Furlong off at a time when we least need it as Blackburn push for the equalizer. No question over his first yellow with that cynical push but maybe a bit unlucky with the second. Missing our next game isn't going to help us as thought he has done generally well defensively today.

Cant remember anyone being sent off for a miss timed header. I think the ref must have thought he kicked him. He played great today.

All the back four scored high on stats today equal second over the match. Isaac price higher.

Season to season, some things never change, rotten referees.

Anyway, well done Baggies, always good to start with a win.

                        Fellows had a poor game.

1-0 and, I believe, a deserved win. The second half particularly lacked composure but nice to see us playing with commitment and a degree of intensity as well as demonstrating some nice link up play and attacking movements -even though the quality in the final third definitely needs working on.

A good over all team performance and of the new faces, Phillips seems solid and while Heggebo, as a CF, didn't see many goal scoring opportunities, he did hold the ball up well. Price continues to impress.

Early days of course and still much to do but defensively better than I had anticipated and signs of some better attacking football to come.

Yes, I thought so too in terms of his impact. Was a bit surprised not to see him swapped for Johnston as Mason seems to want to try our wide players out on both wings.

Just seen the Furlong sending off.
                              That definitely should be appealed.
