The reason, to my mind anyway, is the system, tactics and selection employed. Many of us were, and rightly so, critical of Mason but under Ramsay it is something else. It is obvious to any sane individual that the way he wants us to play just does not suit the players that he has at his disposal. This in turn has resulted in a complete lack of confidence and direction.

What can be done? For a start he needs to look at games where we have played well, employ the same approach and select the same players. If the players are happy with the system that they are playing they have a chance of succeeding. However, at this moment in time they are running around like headless chickens not having a clue what they are supposed to be doing. A recipe for disaster.
I have the you tube reel with the majority at the end of the Leicester match chanting Mason Out. The away supporters are more valuable than me or others who stayed at out. Yes Mason had some bad luck but every club could say that. On the whole the starting selections, formation and football under Mason was shocking - I think it was three away games without a single attempt on goal! Glad he went like the majority who wanted him out who were at the matches.

Comparing Mason to Ramsay is like comparing someone who is clueless to someone who is even more clueless.

The point to ask is why do we appoint s hit cheap managers but then refuse to give our talented youngsters any minutes? It?s insane.

We should have tried to break the bank for McInnes who clearly does not bring success with money or Carrick who has transformed Man Utd into Barcelona with the same players.

Look at Rosenior yesterday - very talented young manager with bags of experience and Chelsea were losing 2-0 at half time. He changed the tactics with three subs and they went on to win
    3-2.

We do not want to pay for good managers but then do not quibble about paying almost 5 million for big standard forwards like Heggebo who is crap with the ball at his feet.

Let?s face it - Fellows only got his chance because of injuries and then CC would have had a backlash if he would have taken him out but then tried to accommodate Wallace in other positions like CF. Apart from 15 mins Wallace is finished and has been for a long time.

Knowing West Brom people like Wallace will be given another fat contract!

    We reap what we sow!

Got it Spot on Al, we?ll get what?s coming to us big style, you don?t need pots of money if your scouting and recruiting system is good, ours has been an embarrassing shambles for years, one example, Zohore, Jesus wept, how much did that donkey cost us?

Zohore cost around 8 million Bomber. We waste money on useless players and then refuse to spend money on decent managers. Heggebo cost five million and there are better forwards in league 1. Heggebo is poor with the ball at his feet because whilst he thinks about it - the aim bang has gone! I think Swedish used the words bit of a donkey and if so - not far wrong!

Look where Lincoln are in the TABLE. They thrashed us pre season - sold their best player - and they may pass us in the night. Great recruitment system there!

Sack Nestor and Ramsay and let Morrison and Brunt run it until the season end. Then bring in a Dan Ashworth type for that idiot Nestor who clearly knows f uck all about football and recruitment!

PS - send that garbage back to Vile too and get ready to show Wallace, Grant, Maja and Dike the door at the end of June.

I'm mindful of the injuries to key players, but the really big question for me and is why the players attitude and battling spirit changed so dramatically from the Derby game to one barely better than the abysmal performance put in against Norwich?

The Derby game was certainly scrappy and poor in terms of quality but they at least battled for every ball and for themselves and earnt applause and some respect back from the travelling fans so why didn't this attitude carry over into the Portsmouth game? I may have kind of understood heads dropping if we had started to play well then conceded another late goal but we never even showed any desire from the kick off! A hugely disjointed performance lacking in confidence and in a game where Ramsay has had a week with them to prepare. I know that the players themselves must take responsibility for any lack of desire or sloppy play but this change has surely got to be largely down to him?

In his interviews Ramsay readily acknowledges the mental fragility of the team in terms of lack of confidence and-as Prando says-he is articulate and is clearly aware of where things went wrong in the game and where we need to improve (hardly bloody rocket science!) but still insists on playing the wing back based formation that he prefers, regardless of how suited to it the players at his disposal are.

To be fair, even though it was a poor game, the way Ramsay set the team up against Derby worked and was more fluid than I had anticipated but I still believe that we have played better football under Mason using a formation more suited to the players we have. I'm not sure we have time to experiment with different tactics too much and not playing to our strengths and sticking with consistently under performing players seems madness.

I'm not saying that we should have stuck with Mason because, despite some decent performances (even against teams at the top of the league), I had no belief that he could turn us around in time. Ramsay is more articulate in front of the cameras and comes across as being firmer and more sure himself but the MLS is not the Championship and this rigidity in thinking (whether from him or Nestor) could cost us dear.

Still early days but we don't have the luxury of time and if things do not improve massively against Stoke then it's very tempting to agree with Bomber that if we could not have afforded a decent manager with proven Championship experience to replace Mason, we may have been better to stick with Mozza for the rest of the season. We might not have climbed back up the table much but he knows the players and we may have at least avoided relegation. Who knows, he may also have given the likes of Bostock and Whitwell some game time?

              Exactly so Omeg buddy.
In my opinion, Ramsey has made it clear he will not change his formation and tactics. Any change therefore would involve his removal.
As mentioned earlier I cannot see this happening.
I wonder if, and when Patel will put pressure on Nestor. Patel is no fool and it will be interesting to see whether he is strong enough to address the Nestor appointment !

Lose to Stoke and the supporters will want Ramsay gone Prando. There?s a clip with supporters at the end of the Pompey match chanting - Eric Ramsey your football is ****!!

Can you blame them? They paid all that cash unlike you, me or others watching on the sofa!
