Let's hope it isn't anything serious and we could well do without another defensive injury

I certainly agree that his decision making was awful in his early games in terms of formation/ team selection/ tactics Bomber but today I thought he started with roughly the right team selection given the circumstances around our injury list, need to concentrate on the league and a belief (shared by many) that both Whitwell and Bostock needed their chance along with Mustapha.

With an in form Norwich, buoyed by our capitulation to them in our last meeting and boasting some quality in their team, the result in the first half was pretty disastrous however and Norwich were pretty much allowed to run all over us. Had it not been for Griffiths we would have been trounced again in the first 45 but Ramsay made changes the second half and we were better and started to show both far more intent and -thanks to Mowatt-greater strength in midfield. Yes, their last goal was preventable but it was a much better performance in the second half with more senior players on the pitch.

Regardless of his lack of Championship experience, I don't think Ramsay's decision making was at fault today as much as the glaring lack of depth in our squad and lack of quality.

Given the circumstances, we knew that we would field a mostly "second" team today and too much inexperience, lack of game time and quality cost us. With the need to rest our preferred starters for the relegation battle, I don't believe that Ramsay can be blamed for too much of that and the loss today.

Going forward, I think that Ramsay has proven recently that he can (belatedly) change his preferred system to play one that far better suits the players we have and improvements have been seen. This group of players have shown that, with the right selection and formation, they can show fight and can be pretty solid defensively. What we haven't been able to do since before even the days of Carlos however is to create enough chances or put the ball in the back of the net with anything approaching regularity. Part of this may be due to the poor service that our number 9s usually get but surely this lack of goals is mostly down to simple lack of quality -both in our attacking midfielders and strikers?

I'm doubtful that any manager could turn the likes of Grant, Heggabo, Maja or Dike into top goal scorers, especially given our lack of a truly creative midfield player. That, along with a general lack of any clinical finishing across all of our forward line, surely can't be just down to Ramsay?
