  • What would you do if you were the Albion manager?

I?d rent, not buy a house.
But being serious for a minute: I think I?d go with an Air BnB.

    . Made me laugh.

    Me too, deffo Air B&B.

Also if I had money to throw away I’d buy the club and sell when it reached league two at a huge loss.

Start looking at teams like Lincoln who pay their players under 10K and think - why are they hungry and committed whereas ours are slow, overpaid and almost all utter s hite!

I would want to build a team, not try to get performances from a bunch of misfits that can’t play together effectively.

Forget tactics and make every senior player spend 10 hours a day for the next week on shooting practice.

I seem to remember a story about Bobby Charlton-who was famously skilled with both feet-talking about him initially favouring one foot (I forget which) and then working religiously to become equally adept with the other. This involved hours and hours of practice including smashing balls against a drawn goal on a brick wall in his youth with both feet to build up strength and skill in both. I don't know if this story is true but I have no reason to doubt it. That level of dedication to put the hours and effort in and keep practicing in order to hone their skills is surely a key element of success for any sportsman (or musician/ craftsman for that matter) regardless of any natural talent they have? Charlton, I recall, was also furious with team mate George Best for squandering his talent and preferring to go out on the p rather than train which he also viewed as being totally unprofessional- though he did acknowledge that Best often then tried to make it up by training harder than anyone else once he was back.

The point is that practice does make perfect and when I look at our lack of clinical finishing in front of goal or how very few goals we manage to get given the number of corners we win, you do have to question how much time and dedication is given on the training ground to these. Maybe all this modern day monitoring of player's fitness levels has gone a bit far and limits the hours physically spent on the training ground for fear of them over exerting themselves before the upcoming game?

Morning Omeg! I am a big believer of work ethic and commitment! To this end, I question whether some West Brom players really give a flying f uck about our position! Do Maja and Dike really care? I honestly do not think they do and I would rather see academy players than those two!

Heggebo needs a swift kick up the a rse and almost five million for him FFS. I would rather see Diakite back in and Campbell playing in his natural position.

Never really rated Griffiths compared to Palmer but is O?Leary any better? I don?t think he is!

I will say something controversial now! I would plead with Mowbray to come back until the end of the season!

The thing is Ketts, that we have seen many from this group of players perform and battle for each other. They did it under Corberan and they showed that they could do it under Mason too, even if they didn't get the rewards for such displays. Mason was also always keen to emphasise the importance of "togetherness" and the players largely seemed to have bought into that ethos.

Under Ramsay, this all collapsed, mostly, I suspect, because of him playing players out of position and trying to force a system onto them that they were far from comfortable with.

We have also, of course, bought in some new faces and it is telling that Morrison spoke of players he felt he could "trust" (even though many of those let him down yesterday) which would imply that there are some he does not?

Ignoring quality, in terms of effort and desire, I believe that the likes of Griffiths, Campbell, Phillips, Mepham, Styles, Mowatt, Molumby, Mikey, Wallace, Grant, Heggabo and now Bostock for example have demonstrated this and that they can dig in, battle and work for each other.

Lack of confidence and belief is increasingly having a toll and it is glaringly obvious that we lack quality in all areas of the pitch, but surely the right manager might just be able to get better out of this group before a much needed clear out and rebuild in the summer?

Hi Al, certainly agree with you about the importance of attitude and work ethic and the lack of this in the second half yesterday is likely what incensed both the fans and Morrison most.

As for Mowbray, lots of rumours in the media about him at the moment. If there is any truth in them, I'd assume he would only remotely consider returning if there were firm guarantees that he would be left to manage as he saw fit this time around. At this stage it seems like only a miracle may save us from relegation though.

Three things I would do would be to drop O?Dreary and bring back Griffiths and tell Taylor and Maja despite how things are going they will never pull on an Albion shirt ever again

We have had a few players that have made a real difference to our performances but they have been sold. To compound the problem, two inexperienced coaches have been brought in to try to make a silk purse from a sows ear. Yes, have a head coach but whoever it is should be overseen by a team manager.

Provide a frank post match lecture as to the team and individual performances.

In the Mozza post match interview he alluded to these issues, but I hope he did not pull any punches when speaking to the team in the dressing room. Individual errors need highlighting and ascertaining why and seeking the guilty players agreement and endeavours not to repeat.

These negatives to be avoided next match with areas of positivity accentuated…Bostock
