He is now claiming that Starmer is seeking to join the war now that victory is won. A bit like the US joining WW2 three years too late and then claiming that they won the war. Anyway, what victory? He is an absolute imbecile.

Yep, and it's telling that Blair (who got us into the war with Iraq by blindly following Bush) is being similarly critical of Starmer. Then again, both Badenoch and Farage are also saying the same.Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostHe is now claiming that Starmer is seeking to join the war now that victory is won. I don't rate him as a PM, but on this issue I believe that Starmer has got it right-however repulsive their regime, there did not seem any reasonable or lawful grounds for Trump's initial attack on Iran and so he decided that the UK should not be part of it but when Iran's rather scatter-gun response put UK citizens and facilities at risk he took defensive military action.
Difficult to see Trump's end game here, not least because of all the mixed messages coming out of the White House. Some of those rumoured to have been seen by the US as potential replacement leaders have also already been killed in the strikes and the actions of the US and Israel have only led to wider instability in the region along with the global impact on oil prices.
Ukraine will doubtless be happy as the supply of Iranian made drones to Russia will have been severely hampered but this seems more of a side benefit of Trump's actions rather than a deliberate consideration-if Trump was that concerned for Ukraine he would have been far more supportive of Zelensky against Putin in the first place.
These latest comments from the Toddler in Chief should come as no surprise though. He is a narcissist who shows no grasp of history and demonstrates no respect to anyone unless they are brown-nosing him.

As you say, Blair took us into an illegal war and should be the last person to make comment. I am also in agreement that Starmer is not a good PM but is correct on this issue.Originally posted by Omegstrat6 View PostYep, and it's telling that Blair (who got us into the war with Iraq by blindly following Bush) is being similarly critical of Starmer. I would find it very difficult if I was Starmer to not tell Trump, that I fully respect what he has said in so much, that he does not require any assistance from the UK and as such, we will not be sending any military assistance, and Donald, tell your planes to Foxtrot Oscar from our British airfields.Originally posted by Leicesterbaggie View PostHe is now claiming that Starmer is seeking to join the war now that victory is won. Have a nice day Donald thinking of the good times you had with Epstein.Last edited by On Balance; 08-03-2026, 11:04 AM.

Trump, in my opinion, is unhinged, although he is probably correct in trying to rid the World of an appalling Islamic regime, which is a threat to the World and even its own people. I don?t blame Israel, either, for removing the permanent threat to their existence from the mad Mullahs of Iran. Starmer, though, is as useful as a cardboard cutout, unfit to be PM.

Bang on with your post Ketts! Regardless, Trump is doing the world a favour by eliminating that regime. Likability for me never comes into it.
Starmer is an absolute laughing stock and should look at Meloni for a good strong leader!

I think Starmer has done well on this one and actually represents the people.

No he does not represent the people. The armed forces think he?s an embarrassment. I have a close family member on the Cyprus base in the RAF! They all think he?s a joke,Originally posted by baggiematt View PostI thought you might have respect for her for some reason?

As in, we didnt want anything to do with Iraq, we dont want anything to do with Iran and we need to move away from that orange bully.Originally posted by baggieal View PostNo he does not represent the people. What?s Iraq got to do with it! Even a child would say what?s the point in sending billions to Ukraine for billions in drones to be sent to Russia cancelling this aid out. Smash the terror infrastructure at source which is what?s happening! Even the Ukrainians are clearly happy! The only ones not happy are a few woke Brits who could not have done much to help anyway with one warship which takes two weeks to sail 😭Originally posted by baggiematt View PostAs in, we didnt want anything to do with Iraq, we dont want anything to do with Iran and we need to move away from that orange bully.

Al, in a poll of the UK residents, it showed we did not want to follow Trump into another war. If Starmer is doing what the public and the voter want, he’s actually doing what you have said he should be doing and that is doing what the people want.Originally posted by baggieal View PostNo he does not represent the people. Maybe that is unusual but you cannot argue he has done what the majority want this time.

Not letting the US use our bases at first was pathetic and our personnel in Cyprus are embarrassed that the one ship is yet to sail. At least the base has protection from the Greeks and French. I have a very close family member who is flying one of our typhoons so closely watching.Originally posted by On Balance View PostAl, in a poll of the UK residents, it showed we did not want to follow Trump into another war. Trump?s popularity though OB is still double that to Starmer in the respective countries regardless of what some Brits think of him. Starmer is a laughing stock on the world stage and nothing ever gets addressed at home and he?s afraid to upset certain voters.
Talking of the majority let?s see what happens in the May elections. This will gauge Starmers popularity as results do not lie.

It is of course all a matter of opinions Al. That said Trump and his close relationship with Epstein and the fact it has been shown he did have a closer relationship than he wishes all to believe and there are allegations regarding predatory behaviour, I do wonder if all this attacking weaker countries is just a smoke screen to hide what most of us deplore.
Is he any better that that piece of ditprt that died in a Durham gaol this weekend. Likely not is the real answer. The Americans would not want their President Trump to be seen as such. He will get away with all his filthy ways, very sadly.
