  • Phillips - Price and Heggebo

For the Hull game I would definitely bring back Phillips. Price worries me as he goes missing and those shots in front of goal - a school kid could have done better! Would you drop him?

Heggebo - also went missing at points with only completing 17 passes and managing 36 touches of the ball. Even O'Leary in the West Brom net amassed more, coming in at 56 touches. Heggebo holds players off well but so flat footed and like Price poor in front of goal. Dike will start against Hull as to be fair he had a great game but would you try Maja with Dike? Maja looked ok when he came on and more chancing of scoring in my view than Heggebo!

To be fair each and everyone of the players put a shift in especially Gilchrist, Diakite and Price, however the players are of a such a poor standard that scoring more than one goal is a hard task as is not conceding, it was great to see some fight and passion, credit to the players but you can?t get away from the fact that there is very little quality, go one down v Hull and I can?t see us winning 2-1, hope I?m wrong, but we are where we are for a reason

You are completely right Bomber especially with the going a goal down then all confidence goes.

Loved the battling display but as you said - there?s no quality! I can see Oxford winning again on Saturday and that could be our downfall too with others picking up crucial wins. Remember all those years ago when we were relegated but undefeated in about 11 but only won one of them!

I think he will start the same team on Saturday.

Gilchrist did well filling in at CB but if Phillips is fully match fit I think he will start to pair up with Campbell instead. Other than that, I think Morrison will start the same team too and, tbh, I don't have an issue with that given the players available to him.

Going forward, we clearly lack some quality and both lose the ball too easily or make the wrong decision in the final third. Some of the latter is -as Morrison recognises-a combination of lack of confidence and over eagerness but he has at least got them to show more intent and hopefully goals will result. Based on last night, I would start Heggabo, Dike and Price again. Sometimes some continuity also feels needed and I feel that a Heggabo-Dike partnership up front may produce more than substituting one of them for Maja.

I disagree. I've thought Price (who has been poor for months) actually played well last night, as did Heggebo.

I was concerned pre-game about Gilchrist, but I thought he played well too. Maybe that's his position at Centre Half - although he is a little on the small side.

I thought Maja didn't do anything of note when he came on, if anything he looked off the pace.

The issue is if you drop players like Price or Heggebo - who are you bringing in? The subs made us weaker last night. And Price offers us more than Bostock right now. Heggebo offers us more than Maja.

I thought the performance was excellent and we should stick to the same 11. Price is a wide midfielder and Gilchrist is a centre half. ItÂ’s just taken 3 managers and a whole season to realise!

Dike was much improved too and I do wonder what he could do once properly match fit.

I was listening to Pulis on TalkSport and he said he had spoken to Morrison and suggested that when you dont have a side that can take players on, you compress the pitch, make it difficult and play more direct. Thats exactly what Morrison has done and we look a lot better.
