  • Should Morrison be Appointed?

For me no decision should be made until after the season ends and performances and results need to be evaluated. If we stay up then for me of course Morrison should be in the running along with other good candidates like the Lincoln Manager,

Sentiment should not come into it and we should learn from Big Dave whose managerial record has been poor overall. That said - Morrison to his credit has turned the team around in the few games and players like Campbell are playing in their natural positions.

    Thoughts?

Think if we stay up with good performances then if he wants the job full time then he probably deserves the chance. If they decide on another appointment then I hope he stays with us in some role as i think he has the makings of a very good head coach and I would hate for us to lose him to another club.

Good post! You are right - if we stay up with good performances then he deserves the chance. Sensible move too by appointing an experienced number 2 short term and long term if of course he gets the job.

Certainly made an impression on the fans. Can you imagine at Blackburn if we get a decent result and 7400 supporters are chanting his name. He must be so proud!

If we stay up 100%. He is pragmatic, gets the best out of the players, honest and has them running through brick walls.

I also like the fact he is a club legend. If he does really well, he probably wont be talking to his agent about getting out to the first club that will have him.

I think you could be right. The signs are good but there's a world of difference between being a caretaker manager for a short time and being at the helm full time. Short term impact is easier to achieve than delivering ongoing achievement. James Morrison has done very well to cut out the bull, simplify things and focus minds. As has our current situation.

Drifting aimlessly towards the relegation zone was one thing but the threat of going over the rapids at an increasing rate of velocity has definitely seen a marked shift in paddle rate, concentration and output. I'm hoping this season's review is already underway with a view to arriving at a decisive conclusion shortly thereafter. In the meantime woah Jimmy Jimmy, Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Jimmy Morrison.

            My thoughts exactly.

If he keeps us up, we're playing well towards the end of the season and have a bit of momentum going into next season then surely its more of a risk appointing an alternative manager from outside the club.

So yes, I would appoint him if he keeps us up. When he took over I couldn't see any positivity and thought we were dead certs to go down.
