Hi Al, trust you are having a great time still over in the US! I've been looking but not found anything concrete on either Maja or Grant. As one report pointed out, neither will be in any hurry to sign though while there may be still potentially better deals out there to be had and the window has only just opened. Does make me wonder how long the deals will be on the table but this will obviously be informed by who else we can -or cant-bring in. Whilst I've certainly been pleasantly surprised by the 3 signings we have made so far, I still think that retaining at least one of the two could be a wise move it they agree to the new terms. We still need some experience up front as well as the numbers to make up a decent squad and there is the continuity aspect to consider too.
Tbh, I'm more interested in whether we can manage to retain Danny Imray (who was apparently a big influence on JJ Morgan's decision to join us). Media speculation is that we are still hopeful of signing him. Our main rivals are speculated to be Burnley and Wolves, but with the Dingles having signed Trippier, that may improve our chances and Imray was clearly happy at Albion under Morrison.

Seems madness Omeg that the Club did not set a deadline to both of these players ie the end of May to sign the new contracts or to leave the club when existing contracts terminate ie the end of June. I would rather Maja stay out of the two but feel he will leave and Grant will not get a better deal elsewhere so we will be lumbered with him. Grant has no end product and not a fan but Maja does know where the net is more than Heggebo if kept fit.Originally posted by Omegstrat6 View PostHi Al, trust you are having a great time still over in the US! No tears from many to be honest if both go looking at the social media posts. We need to improve on Mowatt and Molumby in my book as both are too slow and have no talent! We keep neglecting recruitment for the midfield and need a Grimes type of player who was the engine at Coventry.

Whilst I've been pleased with the recruitment so far, I totally agree with you about the need for a decent creative midfielder. It's something we have been missing a while now. That and trying to keep hold of Imray would be top of my current wish list!Originally posted by baggieal View Post

Certainly more positive activity than I was expecting. Always difficult to differentiate between the media speculation notices and reality and therefore always awaiting the Club’s official announcements.
Looking forward to seeing the new guys in action.
